Have you ever listened to a recording of yourself singing or talking and thought it was so strange? I guess I don't really like my talking voice. Is that strange for me to feel this way?

yea like when ppl are taking video, I can't stand being in it. but what's wierd is I sing up front all the time. I just don't understand how my talking voice and singing voice can be so different. does that make sense?

Not werid at all. Alot of people don't like how their voice sounds when it's be recored and then they listen back to it.
but hey at least on the bright side it doesn't really bother you when you just heard yourself talking everyday. lol

I'm the samee!
I couldn't believe that my voice sounds so different from my singing voice. When i took a video with my friends, I didn't even realized it was me talking xD
I sing to a lot of people up front too most of the time.

YES!! and i have the same exact issue, i was being filmed while talking on a video and i listened to it and found my voice oddly sounded high and stuffy, like i sound like im sick.. i hate it so much.. even wen i was a kid it was really bad, my voice was extremely high, like glass breaking, piercing high, its so funny when i watch myself on old home videos....but i guess yu just have to deal, what are yu going to do about it, get a new voicebox?.. im sure most people feel this way too.. so i dont think feeling this way is unusal

No. I am kind of the same way. I was worse before when I was a kid because I had a real raspy horse voice. I would walk out of a room if a video was on. I was real bad. Now, I am okay, I am not crazy about it. But it's okay now. (=

Haha- i know exactly what you mean. i am a part-time pastor so when i first started to preach i used to record my messages and when i listened to the recordings- i have to admit that i was a bit surprised by my own voice (in a not so good way).
i have also heard recordings of me singing- and a friend of mine has video footage of when we were all karoaking at her house and it was like oh my goodnes...
i think it's pretty normal and it's away good to laugh at yourself sometimes...

it is not strange at all! i feel the same way, i HATE how i sound on recordings. i hate how my voice mail sounds and i keep the automated talker on my answering machine.

totally! like, when i sing when my friends are around, they say im really good (and im only 11), but when i hear myself from a recording, my singing sounds SOOO weird. when i hear it, i think im not good, but everybody says im good, and i know that they're not lying. plus, like, when i record myself talking, then i play it back, i sound not like what i think i sound like. oh, well.....

ya i recorded myself once on mi sises fone...trust me i was horrible.lol. mi voice is soft and sweet...most ppl like it but when it comes to singing...yikes im bad. lol. mi friends think im pretty good...............or do they ? lol
