this story is 100% exactly how it happened. Tell me if you think that my daughters mom is dumb or what.
My daughter was at her moms house ( we are not together) and I normally go home after work, shower, and take of on a 40 mile drive to pick my daughter up every Friday. Well I got home one Friday from work to get ready to pick my daughter up and My ex left a message on my house phone that said "If you are coming to pick Lindsey (my daughter) up then you will have to leave straight from work because I am leaving at 6:00 to go to my moms.
The only way I could know to leave straight from work would be if I was already home making it already too late. Did she do this so I couldn't see my daughter or what? I have a hard time believing that someone could possibly be that stupid.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH..... im sorry.... im cynical but that is beyond hilarious.... either way... i like to believe in the good in people and we all have done something outrageously stupid in our lives at one point of another. so give her the benefit of the doubt and just try not to laugh out loud next time you see her (good luck on that one). don't give fuel to a fight before you find out exactly what happened. try to resolve it, and once its resolved, you can jab this at her every once in a while when she gets cocky.

Think control freak! Then think that your ex wanted to take Lindsey with her to her mom's (grandma's) and that was the only way she could. You might (would) have said, "NO!" (Right?)
Something was going on, a party, family reunion, something and she wanted her daughter there. This was about you only in the part of her being very selfish to have to "take" your daughter. It might have been a pretty swell weekend for your daughter...talk about it with her, figure out what went on...and now YOU'VE got a freebie coming!!!

She was probably not thinking the same way you were. She is just not in your life and cant possible think the way you think. Thatsprobably a big part of why u are not together. Bad communication. So yeah I think she was dumb but Ic an see why she did it and I dont think it was on purpose. I suppose you need to ask her to call u at work to tell you these things so you can change whatver you need to change before u get home, maybe she wont bite your head off.

I think that was stupid. Does she not have your work number or an alternate contact number for you?
I would have to agree "She is dumb" Where is the logic in leaving you a message at home, when you were suppose to go straight from work?

This does not sound logical. Either she thought you would check your messages at hom which is a pretty big assumption.
She could have called you at work or on your cell phone or left a message for you at work where you were all day and needed to be to get the message to get your child in time.

um, she kinda is stupid cause she would know you were already home. And yes I do think she did it on purpose cause she doesn't want you to see your daughter again. Or maybe she didn't look at the time when she left you the message.

I have 2 things to say...
#1...It is pretty rude to call your child's mother 'dumb'...but what she did wasnt very smart...so I can see why you said that. Men need to respect the women who have given their children life....
#2...I give you such props for being a great father...the children of today need more men like you! From personal experience...I know how awesome it is to have a wonderful father in your kids life...my sons father used to drive 2 hours every friday, and then drive it again to bring him back to me on sunday...you are awesome!

If she has your cell phone number/work number it's some bullshit! As a matter of fact it sounds like some bullshit to me anyway because she could have waited before going to her moms. I agree with you, she's stupid. Just don't say it in front of your daughter.

Maybe she called early in the morning, thinking you would still be there, and you weren't?
Maybe she doesn't have your work number?
Maybe she just wasn't thinking. Make sure she has your work number, and that she understands you do NOT check your home messages from work. If she has a time-sensitive message for you, she needs to be able to call you or e-mail you at work to let you know.

I would just ask her what her reasoning was behind it... if she stutters or makes absolutely no sense, then you know she was on bullsh!t
It could have been something simple like she caleld from her cell phone and didn't realize it called the house rather than your cell or work number... ya never know!
Sorry it happened though!
