I never see jewish atheists who complain as much about judaism.

and Ive certainly seen a few used to be muslims but their numbers are so small compared to the atheists coming from Christian backgrounds I had to ask.

You can't be a jewish atheist, well sort of. Technically Jewish is also a race since people can say oh he looks Jewish or he has a Jewish nose, etc. But either way Judaism is a god based religion and you can't have that and be atheist.

Christianity is the loudest and most in your face religion in the US so that would be the corresponding result.

The Jewish faith, doesn't make ridiculous claims like this is a "Christian country and the US is based on Christianity.

I have never had a Buddhists come knocking on my door to preach their religion. Hindus don't picket and bomb the grocery store for selling beef.

Christians feel free to do all of these things, picket and bomb abortion clinics. But times are a changing

A lot of Arab athiests are too scared to voice their opinons on Islam due to social pressure and threat of violence.

Due to the reformation of Christianity in the Middle Ages and the influence of the Renaissance, countries that were traditionally Christian in the past tend to have traditions of greater social freedoms and free speech than other countries. (ie. Europe, North America, Australia/New Zealand etc.), particularly those of Anglican (eg. UK, Canada, Australia), Lutheran (Scandinavia) and other reformed branches of Christianity.

Also, perhaps Jewish athiests feel the need to support their religion more due to violence against them in the past.

I am a Christian and here is why many do not except Christianity. (and they have a good reason to be angry).

1. Many that teach GOD'S word, do not live by what they preach.

2. Those preachers and teachers of the word that we see on T.V. beg for money and then offer prayer... This sends a message that prayers are not free, yet they will tell you that GOD'S word, HIS love, HIS forgiveness, HIS hope, HIS everything is FREE just ask. And then they ask you to buy inspired books,tapes/c.d.s........

3. The preachers and teachers of the word, that claim GODS word is HIS inspired WORD and it is FREE, yet they have turned it into a market place.

The list goes on and this is sad! The WORD of GOD is free, HIS salvation and forgiveness is free, and nobody should twist what HE has said.

Matthew 16:24-26
24. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

In order to follow Jesus and take up his cross,Christians must live as Christ lived, HE did not sell HIS Fathers inspired word, HE lived what HE preached and HE GAVE FREELY.

It is quite possibly because more Christians appear to make comments about atheists. Given the preponderance of Christians in this particular forum, for example, and the relative paucity of comments by Jews, it would be reasonable to expect that more comments would concern themselves with Christians.

In a hardware store, more conversations will be about tools than about chocolate ice cream.

When I was an atheist I had the same observation. A lot of it is because of Christians acting atrociously to everyone else.

The humility of Judaism, which Jesus usually practiced, would suit many Christians better than the nastiness.

Theists, especially christians, try to control and restrict us based on their views. If all christians stop crusading against science, culture, art, sex and sexuality, religious freedom and such, and stop telling everybody else they're going to be tortured throughout eternity unless they join you, I assure you that you won't encounter nearly as much hostility.

P.S. ask Israeli atheists about fanatical jews. It's just that the more concentrated fanatics are, the more they can hurt others and the less wrong they see with it.

did you honestly just say "jewish atheist?" do you even understand what atheist means?

and the reason is that most often, we see christians trying to shove their beliefs down other people's throats. you don't get this so much with other religions.

All are born atheist.
Christianity in the U.S. refuses to stay out of the government and out of peoples personal lives. Dictating how everyone should live and follow their book to the letter. No wonder people are pissed off. We're trying to protect the constitution.

Because they can get away with it. Complaining about Judaism can get one labeled anti-Semitic, and complaining about Islam can get one killed. Christianity is a safe target.
