Gosh, I know, right? Okay, here's the thing. The Bible teaches Christians to be concerned for the welfare of others, especially their spiritual welfare. Okay, but here's the thing. So many people take that too far and start acting as if they're saved by how many people they lead to the Lord. I mean, that's not it at all. Yeah, it's great to love others and be concerned for their spiritual well-being, but shove it down their throats? Come on! The Bible also teaches us about love, but there can be no love if we don't respect, and if we do not respect someone's space and personal opinions, then how are we loving them? It's like, you know, so many people tell people they are WRONG for believing one way or another, but is that really my business as a Christian to respond negatively to someone and tell them they're wrong? I don't think so. I really think that a lot of Christians take it too far. I don't think they should leave everyone alone - not completely, but they also shouldn't harass them either. Then again, my beliefs are pretty controversial and not like a lot of other Christians'. I believe in God the Father, Jesus the Messiah, and the Bible, but not in organized Religion. I would explain that, but you haven't asked. :) Have a great day. I hope I helped out a little.

Well, you must be around some real zealots. Saving is for Jesus and Jesus alone. If folks talk nicely, I will listen even AS I am a Christian. But when folks start shoving that down my throat like I don't know my personal relationship with God, then it's back at them full force! I've been thru all the way from a man telling me I was hellbound for nothing. He carried a Bible and a jug of water. I have more Bibles than some and less than some but I am a believer and I encounter the same thing. When I try to explain that I already believe, they don't believe me sometimes! It seems as if we are in limbo between science being crammed down our throats, zealots everywhere who probably don't know what they are talking about and couldn't bear proper witness to a frog and seekers who can't get decent answers. It's truly complicated out there so I opt to run on faith. I guess just try and be polite as the command is "Judge not lest ye be judged". You are not alone. Even believers get hit with it everyday.

I'm not Christian, but I think Jesus had it right. To bad his "followers" got all caught up in a power struggle to "prove" they were the right religion. It's not all Christians who are required to proselytize (preach their truth) a few use the power of example to win converts instead of terrorizing people with scare tactics like you'll go to Hell. The Bible says that "God" is a loving and forgiving father, and the First Commandment (Number 1) says "I am a vengeful and jealous "God" and you shall worship NONE before me", since the Christ came after that they do this dance about Jesus is "God" but I've never read Jesus say that in the "New Testament" anywhere seems he'd know if he was "God" or not and he seemed to be a very outspoken individual with know fear that I've read. Of course I'm not a Christian so maybe Jesus was afraid to admit it.

WHO---tell me who have I tried to convert in here?
If you ask a question, I answer. There is no converting.
I personally do not care what you believe. You are old enough to decide for yourself. That decision is all on you.

Teachings from the Bible tell us to spread the word of God. This can be misconstrued as trying to convert everyone. To each his own I always say.

This is why:
17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
. . . . . . of course, you already knew that.

Because we (try to) love everyone as ourself, and I know I want to go to Heaven and spend eternity with my loving, merciful Creator, so I want you to miss out on eternal damnation and torment too. Plus God told us to, so we are being obedient.
