If the seller is selling a boxed, unregistered LEGAL version , then its fine. Its not uncommon for liquidators to buy up licensed software and re-sell it on ebay. The key thing is to ask questions up front such as...
1. Is this a legal , un-registered version?
2. Is it a whitebox or retail (whitebox means they are only supposed to bundle it with hardware)
3. Is this an academic edition? **This is the most common case of discount software ** (Academic editions are only authorized for students and educational institutions, meaning you're not supposed to use it for commercial purposes)

Once the buyer satisfies all your questions, and he has a decent rating, go ahead and buy the software.. Generally really good deals are found on software that is one or two versions behind the current release.

if the pictures of the box look legit (like its laying face up on the floor or on a table etc. in a non-professional way) then it actually might be safer than a power-seller.

as for feedback on ebay, don't trust it. when people first get the product and it works, they leave good feedback. then the problems with them surface, and the feedback cannot be changed.

for example, I bought an MTX TC6001 amplifier. it worked for a month, then shorted and smoked my 400$ subs. I sent it in for a warranty in january and still haven't gotten it. every one of the 20 emails I send they tell me "it should be done in a week...".

If anything, check sites like newegg.com and other reputable places. the discount isn't worth the risk.

Corsair , is decent RAM - and the price looks to be fine as well should be no shipping issues , but I'm always leery of shopping off of E-Bay - if you can spend the few extra pounds/dollars and go to a PC store.
