I would appreciate if someone can tell me 2 quotes. One that express the confusion of differentiating "discipline" from "fascism" and another quote about the power of reason against lies.

Thanks in advance.

Elie Wiesel: Quotes on Self Discipline
Ultimately, the only power to which man should aspire is that which he exercises over himself.

When I was doing my B.Ed. a lecturer said that the rise of the Nazi party in Germany was a result of German mothers' potty training. I don't know much about German potty training, but I do remember a French toddler being sat on her potty with a jam sandwich and she was not allowed to leave before she had 'performed'.
This was somewhat extreme, but children need to know the boundaries. They'll always kick against them but they still need to know what they're kicking against.
'Laissez-faire' (which means you can do as you like) falls apart when people think that everything is permitted.
A society based on these principles is doomed.
However, the 'Nanny state' which prohibits the consumption of Big Macs, saves us from eating peanuts (just in case we have a nut allergy) by legislation, is verging on fascism.
I'll have a look for some quotes, but it might be difficult.

If this is for school credit, the first thing you need to know is that the word is "quotations." Most English teachers would have you use quote as a verb. Don't know anything about the question you asked but I wish you good luck in your search.
