The more it matters to you, the more it will matter to other people. Easy to say, I know. I don't compare myself with the elephant man, but I did always used to think that I wasn't pretty. But after years of seeing people admiring people whom I thought were not pretty, and after years of admiring people whom other people said were not pretty, I've realised that there will be people out there who think I am pretty. So, now I think so myself. I behave as if I am pretty and, you know, I think that I look better now in my fourties than at any other stage of my life, because I am happy and believe in myself. What a shame it took so long! I hope you find yourself more quickly than I did.
