According to the Christian doctrine, Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. The idea here is that every human is born with sins, or that all humans will sin, and therefore it was necessary that someone as pure as Jesus would be the crucified to nullify these sins. The question is; why does anyone have to die for our sins when God, the All-Merciful, could as easily give us forgiveness if we ask for it? Isn't God the one who makes the rules? Why does He have to make someone suffer for our sins or for someone else's sins? Isn't that unjust of Him? According to the Bible the way to redemption could be obtained without the need for sacrifice. The Bible says:
Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

Ezekiel 18:21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
Clearly the soul that sins shall die. Clearly that no one shall bear the iniquity (sins) of others. So Jesus cannot bear the sins of others either. If one is righteous then it shall be upon him, and if one commits a sin then it shall be upon him, and not on Jesus. Finally, the way to repentance and forgiveness is by turning from all sins, doing what is right, and keeping the commandments.
Also we see the same message given by Solomon. He says in the book of Ecclesiastes 12:13 "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." This is the whole message, and this is the conclusion of messages. It is that one should fear God, and keep the commandments, and nothing else.

JUSTICE. God, being a just God, has to punish us becuase we're guilty. Jesus, in his love for us, agreed to accept that punishment for us as a substitute. The theological term is "propititiation".

This was Gods plan from the beginning and the Old Testament sacrifices were a type and shadow of the ultimate sacrifice that way yet to come- even God Himself on the altar of the cross bearing our sins. Old Testament scripture attests to this.
Isaiah 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of YAHWEH, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
What did John the baptist, the forruner of the Messiah, preach?
John 1:23;29 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of YHWH, as said the prophet Esaias
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
I could give you more scripture of how God planned redemption through Christ but it would take too much space check the whole chapter of Isaiah 53 for your self if you doubt God's Salvation through Jesus.
By the way in the scripture above I translated the LORD into YHWH because that is how it actually translates in the Hebrew if you grab a concordance. So what? The significance is that Jesus is YHWH or Jehovah or just plain God if you prefer according to the OT scripture

This is a big topic of debate between Christians and non-Christians. It's difficult to have a conversation about it here without being able to tald back and forth. So, I'm just goin to give a short and simple answer. Jesus had to die for our sins because it's the way God planned it. This is more of a question you need to ask God. All throughout the OT GOd spoke about sin and death and promised a Messiah, an ultimate sacrifice. Humans gave animal blood sacrifices for years for atonement. Yet mankind kept sinning. So God decided to give us the sacrifice. His Son. We still need to ask for forgiveness but we no longer have to office blood sacrifices. Jesus' blood is pure, perfect.
Jesus died because it was God's will.

Because merely saying "sorry" does not mean much because our apologies mean very little. Consider Adam and Eve, if God immediately said, "its okay, it was just a fruit, i forgive you". What would happen next? Cain would kill Abel. And then God forgives that, and then Judah sleeps with Tamar. The simply truth is our own personal sacrifices, our attempts to gain atonement, do not sanctify us. They only temporarily cover-up our sins. This is why the Jewish law required so many sacrifices, you couldn't just sacrifice one goat and be fine the rest of your life. But Christ is a perpetual sacrifice, worth more than any of us combined. The Jewish law is very specific that there has to be a sacrifice to atone for sins.

because atonement had to be made because our sins were so great the only acceptable sacrifice had to come from the one who did no sin Jesus a blood sacrifice was the only thing that was acceptable to God. the blood of Jesus was the only thing that could wash away our sins completely forever. and that we might have life and life more abundantly. Jesus offered Himself He lived He died and He rose again all so that we would believe on the name that is above every name.

Jesus is God, that is why- God became flesh (John 1:1) Only God could do this for us, no one else is sinless or pure! And the way He had to do it, is because that is how sins are forgiven, through the shedding of blood as it says in Hebrews.
Jesus says:
Matthew 26:28
This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Hebrews 9:22
In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
-And Jesus Christ has now come, we are no longer under the Law but under His wonderful Grace! No more animal sacrifices for sins, for Jesus paid the price, and one drop of his blood was enough to cover a multitude of sins!

Jesus had to die on the cross because no one was able to keep the whole law. How would you like to keep sacrificing animals today? In your Scripture reference, (as if you believe it), God is speaking to the actual nation of Israel. The church of Christ and the nation of Israel are two different entities. The rapture does not belong to Israel, only the church. The inheritance does not belong to the church, only Israel. It is necessary not to confuse the two. In that dispensation of time, there was no perfect sacrifice for sin, therefore, every man perished for his own sin. For the church, God provided His own lamb. Why do you think there are no more animal sacrifices? People got tired? They said "Forget God?" No. Jesus' sacrifice was an eternal one. Once for all. God provided it. Do you contend with Him over this issue?

To fulfill the promise of God the Father, which is the SALVATION OF THE MANKIND.
SALVATION comes from the Lord. But even though it is gift, we must ask for it. This may not sound logical on the human level, but that is how it works in God's scheme of things. God will not save a person's soul against that person's will Revelation 22:17 declares, "...and whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely." Notice in this passage that the individual must the will "desire" to be saved.

Romans 6:23 (1st part) "For the wages of sin is death. . . ." Because we have committed sin by transgressing the laws of God, we ought to die. But because of His great and unfathomable love for us, He chose to die on the cross and shed His blood for our redemption. In other words, He became our substitute that He has to die in our place. No human blood can save mankind since all have sinned.
John 3:16 "For God soooooo loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

I don't think you should be criticizing anybody's religion if you are a Muslim. We've explained this several times before. All people are born with the propensity for sin. Until Jesus, there was no hope of salvation. Jesus died to save us and rose again of his own accord, to show that he was God. Sure, God could have just forgiven, but humans often need more than that to make the idea stick. And who would know humans better than he who created us?

that is a prophetic section that God talks to Ezikiel about. He's telling him this is how its gonna be soon. Jesus died because ancient believers were forgiven by "putting" their sins on a goat/lamb and sacrificing the lamb. Before Jesus died the people were still in that tradition so after Jesus died and rose again, the new tradition came where all you needed was belief and to ask God to forgive.
