Bruchetta is fairly easy as the actual topping comes premade in stores now, and all u have to do is get the thinly sliced bread, top, warm under the broiler and go !! A big green salad is also a great side dish to spaghetti.

Bruschetta is 1/2" to 3/4" thick slices of French or Italian bread with something tasty on top. (Generally it is served as an appetizer straight from the broiler because it can get soggy fast.)
The traditional topping is a spoonful of chopped tomato, a little basil, a little olive oil and a little cheese on top, broiled just long enough to start the cheese melting.
There are a gazillion toppings--from pesto to capers to whatever. It's always zesty, and always has some herbs.
Go to and type "bruschetta" into the search box. You will get dozens of variations.
Back to your original question, you could brush a loaf of Italian or French bread with a just enough olive oil to make the following stick, then dust it with a little oregano, ground black pepper and a little grated Parmesian. Wrap it in foil and warm in a low oven just enough to warm the bread and start to melt the cheese. It's a nice change from regular garlic bread.

When I make spaghetti, I love to have cottage cheese and a salad. Instead of garlic bread I like a plain fresh french baguette. You can use butter or extra virgin olive oil with parmesan cheese to dip your bread in if you like.

Take a can of crescent roll dough and separate into triangles. Lightly spread the top of each triangle with a little of the following:
2 tablespoons of diced Prosciutto (or regular ham) mixed with 2 teaspoons grated Provolone cheese, 2 teaspoons butter, and 1/4 teaspoon of mustard. (The mixture should be thick, so add more cheese if necessary.)
Roll up the dough to form crescents and bake according to the package instructions.

a nice salad, some cresent rolls, crusty bread spread with sweet butter. Oh, and from way back in the day - try sweet rolls like a danish. The sweet of the roll contrasts nicely with the spice of the sauce!

Salad or you can actually take mozzarella cheese sticks, sprinkle garlic all over them, and fry them. They are really yummy, cheesy garlic sticks!
