I located a tick the other day which I removed rather easily... no pain or anything. I suffer from bad allergies so its hard to tell what my symptoms are. No swelling or anything like that though. Should I see a doctor right away or wait a little bit to see if anything develops. I dont have any health insurance right now, so money is an issue. Thanks for any input guys!

damn right you should! read this: Ticks are second only to mosquitoes as vectors of human disease, both infectious and toxic.[1]

Hard ticks can transmit human diseases such as relapsing fever, Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, tularemia, equine encephalitis, Colorado tick fever, and several forms of ehrlichiosis. Additionally, they are responsible for transmitting livestock and pet diseases, including babesiosis, anaplasmosis and cytauxzoonosis.

Soft ticks transmit relapsing fever spirochetes such as Borrelia turicatae, Borrelia parkeri and Borrelia hermsii.

the biggest danger with removing a tick is that when you just pull them off, you tend to leave all or part of the head of the tick in the wound. It gets infected and takes forever to heal up, sometimes requiring minor surgery to clean out the wound. In future if you find a tick on you, cover it with a thick glob of vaseline, it becomes impossible for the tick to breathe and it pulls out of your skin trying to get air, then it can be easily wiped off with the vaseline.
as for your current problem, watch the wound closely for any kind of infection, the skin reddenes, becomes warm to touch, and possibly a pocket of pus forms. Watch also for signs of body aches or fever as this could signal a disease process, ticks do carry rocky mountain spotted fever.

Dont worry about it. Just wait. If a bulls-eye rash appears over the bite, then you need to go to doctor asap. Thats an indication of Lyme's disease. otherwise you should be fine. Good luck

As long as you got the tick out you should be alright. Just watch for any strange symptoms in the future to be sure you didn't contract lyme disease.

I just want to point out that Master.... is COMPLETELY CORRECT!

And not only that, but are you CERTAIN there are no other ticks on anyone else or pets? Have you cleansed your house for chance of remaining egg sacks?

Money or no money, ticks carry a number of diseases, why wait for them to take hold?

crimson spots are generic for tick bites, once I get bit genuine solid I even have crimson spots for months after. the terrific element to do once you have a tick is to get rid of it and burn it or flush it down a rest room (the trash isn't a solid theory, extraordinarily in case you have pets).
