In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

He is not Satan is a created being. Read John and you will find Jesus is God and that by Him all things were made that are made. Jesus created Satan as an angel, now Satan is a fallen angel. Jesus and Satan being brothers is a lie of the Mormon church.

Jesus and Satan are not brothers. That is another false teaching of LDS.

"In Mormon theology, Christ as a pre-existent spirit was not only the spirit brother of the devil ( as alluded to in the Pearl of Great Price, Moses 4:1-4, and later reaffirmed by Brigham Young in the Journal of Discourses, Vol. 13, p.282), but celebrated his own marriage to both "the Marys and Martha, whereby he could see his seed before he was crucified" ( Apostle Orson Hyde, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 4, pp. 259-260 )

Satan isn't Jesus' brother-- he is an angel (Lucifer, one of the best, most beautiful angels), originally created by God to do his work and bring him glory.
Satan wanted to be like God and receive glory for himself, so his pride caused himself and other angels to fall.
They are not by any means on an equal level. Though Satan has power in this world, God has ultimate control and will one day completely defeat Satan.
Why doesn't he do that now? I don't know. God's infinite wisdom is far beyond my mind.

Jesus was God's first-born son. But there were other spirit sons of God, including the one who later became Satan.

Satan is not His brother. Satan used to be Lucifer, a created being, a fallen angel. Nowhere in scripture are angels called "children of God", but humans are. This is why Lucifer became so jealous of humans. Angels are God's servants, not His children.

Satan isn't Jesus' brother. WE are Jesus' brothers and sisters. Satan is a fallen angel who refused to serve God.

Jesus Christ is not literally God's only son. He's His "Only Begotten Son." Also, everyone is a son and daughter of God. So, Satan can be another one of God's sons.
