I mean,I don't want to legislate their lives or anything, but if schools are going to serve pizza and burgers and stuff like that for lunch, what about the rights of Christian parents who want their kids to eat asparagus not Cheetos? And shouldn't this all be a Big Time Red Hot Media thing where we get barraged with tv newmagazines going on about it? And what about the atheists? Maybe that junk food is the problem, has been all along, you know affecting their minds and so on? How much of that stuff do they eat anyway? And what does this do for protocol,I mean what if Bush had one to the White House to dinner,I mean what do you serve, hot dogs and Cokes? And what about the antireligious significance, huh? Let's not forget that. Is junk food for an atheist like kosher cookin' for a Jew? Would it be rude to offer one a carrot salad? What would happen if they ate it? Would they be punished by NoGodAnywhere?

Great sense of humor folks. Thing is,I posted this right above a silly put-down of Christianity by some moose avatar. I guess making jokes about Christians is o.k. but not jokes about atheists? Or atheists are just that sour?
Anyway,another interesting experiment.

Well, I think you are way too serious on this subject. We still have individuality even as christians. I don't agree that because a Christian parent wants their kids to eat healthy, all kids should have to eat the same way. Christian parents who feel like this should pack their kids lunches and send to school with them. I can almost guarantee you that if a parent sent a "healthy" lunch for their kids, first chance they get they will dump it for pizza or burgers cause it just tastes better. isn't it better for a child to have full stomach so they can concentrate on their studies instead of on the fact they are hungary cause they didn't like their " healthy " lunch ,so didn't eat it? I guess you believed the "twinkie" defense too? Get real. For the most part, people act the way the do because that is how they want to act.

When it comes to your question about what we can do for atheists who eat too much junk food---just tell them it matches their beliefs!

Not to offend, but your comments in your question is one reason non-believers are "turned off to chrisitanity". Every person has to find their own path to God. You can't make them do things your way or believe as you believe. So lighten up. The best way to convert someone is by letting them observe how you live your life.

I am a christian- I like cheetos.
lol
no seriously I do....but I understand what you are saying about the lunch menus in schools. My kids go to a christian school and it is pizza every friday, which I dont really care because I usually pack their lunches. But I do let my daughter circle 10 days out of the month, if she likes 10 of the meals and she can buy her lunch on those days--- usually they serve a veggie or fruit with each meal, which is good. No soda!
I love soda too....e gads!
I like junk food. I do, and I try not to eat it too much, and that is why I work out all the time, to maintain a healthy weight, but I do need more veggies and fruit!

Oh and to the previous poster- I love to eat yummy foods, which can be junk food, BUT I exercise 6 days a week, and keep active, because I want to stay in shape--- so I actually do care. But eating is fun!(as long as you are not a glutton) God has given us wonderful food!

Hmmmmm You could get you fat xian asses out of McDonald's when church gets out. I like to sleep in on Sundays and then enjoy a nice McDonald's breakfast but all the xians are crowding up the place. By the time I get to the front of the line they are serving lunch.

You think Jim Baker and Jerry Falwell got so fat eating veggies?

Oh ya and just a lil tip...Jokes are supposed to be funny...It's nicer for the teller and the listener.

Im kinda of an atheist so since you say this
"What can we as Christians do for atheists who eat too much junk food?"
I'll say
"What can you as a Christian to send the Atheist's sons/daughters to church to meet their paedophilic priests?"

(PS:Didnt mean to harm/insult anybody else, even other christians, but this guy,as an individual and his naivety )

I don't believe that you can make a distinction between us and atheists based on what we eat. I'm sure there are just as many atheist as Christians who eat healthy. The fact that you differentiate the two based on such a ludicrous idea is insulting to me as a Christian.

What does religion have to go with eating junk food?! If you want your children to eat their veggies, teach them to do that. I agree that there is just way too much junk out there, and it definitely takes some sefl-control to avoid it, but it has nothing to do with religion or the government. It has everything to do with people not knowing what's good for them and teaching their children bad habits by example.

Most of the schools in my home state have a salad bar--sandwich bar(hamburgers and other sandwichs and pizza)
and a full meal bar. Each student chookes what they want.

they also have orange juice and sports drinks and few soda.

It is not the atheist that should fear God's wrath...but the obese Christians...

gluttony is a sin...and many people who call themselves Christians die fat, so never turned from their sin...so will not inherit the kingdom of God.

This should really be preached from the pulpit...but, considering there are so many fat fundies...I guess pastors are afraid of losing their monetary contributors if they preach the stuff in the Bible that applies to their parishoners.
