I don't know if you have looked at the title of this forum, but it says Religion & SPIRITUALITY. I don't know about you and what you believe, but it is possible to be spiritual and not believe in god. The reason that we talk about it so much is probably because other peoples belief in a god has had some sort of effect on their lives, positive or negative, and forums like this provide an outlet to discuss things.

The fight against the myth of God and the chance we might dust the cobwebs out of another mind brings us here. Otherwise this would just be a "My God is better than your God" fest.
This did make me think though... I jumped from being Mormon to Atheist... Second most misunderstood religious affiliation to first... Frying pan to fire so to speak... :-)

See all those questions that start with "Atheists..."?
Also, just because I don't believe in a god doesn't mean that I'm not allowed to be curious. Why can't I ask a question about religions?
Questions and answers. That's what this place is for.

I'll be here because there are interesting people talking about interesting stuff. The philosophy section is kind of boring.

Blas Pacqall (I don't know if I spelled it right) once said that inside the heart of every human being is a hole the shape of God, and unless He comes and fills it, they will always being looking for ways to fill it but never be saticfied. I believe it to be true among atheist as well as anyone else. Instead of feuding with them and getting into all kinds of debates realize that it is not through the brain that you will reach them but through the heart. It starts with us.

For some reason non-believers (when you give them titles such as atheist it just swells their heads even more) seem to have a superiority complex. It's like they feel they've reached some point of enlightenment and smugly want to rub it in everyone else's face. They fault with this rationale is with the claim of higher intelligence. Everyone should know that an "open mind" and the ability to think abstractly is the first stage of enlightenment. It takes both of these qualities in order to believe in, and understand such concepts as "a higher power", God, eternity, etc.

Because when we click "answer." at the top of the Yahoo! Answers homepage, it lists the most recent questions asked. Also, religion is a subject of disagreement, and people like to argue.

We are here to represent the advancement of mankind that you ignorant and conceitedly arrogant worshipers of non-existant entities have been persecuting since the beginning of time. If not for religion and its absolute control over feeble human sheep, there would be world peace. "God" save you, for nothing else can.
