I check this place everyday, ususaly. I like helping people out in their needs when they are confused about their religion or what relgion to believe in and all of that. I see others do too.

Here's what I don't like, people bickering back and forth about God. This comes from a Christian perspective of course since I am a Christian. But Christians, stop trying to prove that our God is real! We know that he is to us but beating it down in someone's face won't help.

Atheist- stop trying to disprove God. There is no way in the entire world that you can do so it is impossible. Now this does not happen all the time but in a lot of post it does.

The reason none of us will never be able to do one or the other is because of FAITH. We live by faith. If we knew God existed there would be no reason to have faith because we would ALREADY KNOW.

So how about we only try to truly help people on here that need help instead of fighting amongst ourseleves leading others away.

I agree whole heartedly. No one, no matter what religion they believe in, can prove or disprove their God's exsistence. So why can't we just all stop jumping down each others throats.

All human beings live by faith. Christians live by the faith of God, Hindu's live by the faith of Krishna, Atheist live by the faith of No God, so forth and so on.

What people are battling over, is validation for how they feel. I, honestly, think people are afraid of losing what they've known only as truth their whole lives and will battle it out with even the most ridiculous reasoning (not saying anything about anyone or what has been said today), but in general.

Faith is real, for everyone. And everyone has their right to it... in their own way and not how someone else thinks they should keep it.

Agreed, it is a pointless exercise, and people who try are usually looking for a fight. But it is a natural human inclination to react to statements one doesn't agree with. The only thing one can do is to resist participating. An unwatered plant will not grow. But this particular wisdom only comes from experience, and every day there are newbies who haven't gotten the message. All we who know better can do is to skip over the questions that look like obvious taunts.

This is noble, and unfortunately will not happen. Both parties have strong reasons for their opinions, and both believe that the other interferes with their way of life: atheists seem to believe that Christians are busy wrecking the world by undermining science (or trying to) and by interfering with the legislative process; Christians believe that atheists are deceiving people into hell.

Neither are likely to quit.

I know that God exists. Fact. But true enough I don't have faith or religion. So putting it in a contest I can live with is a problem.

I approve of the reasonable tone of your statement. I do, however, respectful disagree. This I believe it is a proper forum to raise questions about the validity of beliefs. If not here then where, or would you consider it improper to discuss such things in any setting?

Any topic can be debated if patience and courtesy are used. We should debate, and we should be respectful as we do so.

I agree with most of that.

But I would add that most atheists here are NOT trying to disprove god.

Merely correcting theist lies or misrepresentation fo science is not the same as trying to disprove the existence of god.

All atheists know you can not disprove a negative.

I'm an atheist, and I can disprove your Christian deity, or at the very least, demonstrate to you that your beliefs are irrational. Email me, if you'd care to continue.

I realize that god(s) are impossible to prove or disprove, but certain beliefs about deities that are applied to the physical world can be demonstrated false.

Yeah I don't try to disprove something that doesn't exist, that wouldn't make sense. I do mostly laugh at people and every once in a while post information.

Very good. I am pleased to see someone who is openly a Christian saying these things.

Folks, let's make nice, OK? Let's have good manners and see if we can't get real discussion going, not just slinging insults.
