Use a gas-axe. It's an oxy-acetylene cutter designed primarily for use within the demolition industry. You can cut through metal up to 2 feet thick. This is probably the most suitable option (you can hire them but they're not that expensive to buy).

There are more efficient tools such as plasma cutters, laser cutters and tungsten cutters but they're expensive tools at the top end of the market - not really practical for a one off job unless it's a serious amount of cutting you need to do.

As for loading into 20 foot containers. If you're going to do this by hand you need a lot of people or will have to cut the metal into tiny fragments. Better to get some lifting equipment, it will save so much time. If there's any building work going on nearby then slip a few dollars into the pocket of an excavator of hi-ab driver and get them to come by and do the lifting.

Depending on the size, you can use an acetylene torch or even a saw. A diamond blade will last longer on a saw.

You'll have better results by cutting the pieces as big as you can carry. The bigger the better.

Best of luck.

Get a sawz all and a metal blade. Sawz all have different blades too so you can use it for anything, wood, ceramic, other metals, or you can rent one at a Lowes or Home Depot. They come in handy.
