There is more than one way to solve your problem depending on what your goal is.
If you are trying to cover a large area you may wish to go with more than one amp and several more speakers rather than try and blast more sound from less speakers. Why? Because by trying to cover a large area with less speakers, the people closest to the speakers will feel that they are too loud.

However, if you only have a smaller area and your system is just underpowered then I'd look into a more powerful amp. Getting better speakers would depend on the rating of your current speakers. If they can handle the power from a bigger amp then you wouldn't have to buy new speakers.

As for your question about hooking up more than one powered amp to a pa system ... most pa systems have line outputs that can feed another power amp directly.

Wow. That is a difficult question. There is so much more information needed to provide a quality answer.

Some speakers are capable of bi-amplification, wiring more than one amp to each speaker.

Do you have two speakers per amplifier? Are your amps bridgable? If so, the easiest thing to do is add one matching amp and have an amp bridged to each speaker, assuming your speaker cna handle the increased power.

If you want to give details on your system and where the system is used, i would be more than happy to discuss it with you.

Bigger Amp. definately. Make sure your speakers are rated to handle the power.
