Ihave 4 wires to speedo how do I test?

1 wire is key on power one is ground the other 2 are from the speed sensor with a multimeter set on the a.c. scale you should see between 4-tenths of a volt and 4 volts depending on the speed of rear wheels NOTE[the car must be properly jacked up and safety stands in place with the front wheels blocked and both rear wheels raised . death and property damage are the issues here] however most times the quick disconnect connector at the speedometer is loose or has a slight corrosion problem and cleaning it up is the cure.

Your problem may also lie in the connector on the diff.These commonly crack as they are in a bad location.This is the more common fault.
