It's a tactic used to make opponents of illegal immigration look weak. It is literally a form of propaganda. It is a completely unfounded and uncorroborated by any reliable study or source. If that article were true, a person from North Dakota would be afraid when a family from Georgia moved in next door, since these two regions do in fact have very different cultures(religious sects, dialects, food, hobbies, ancestry).

the native americans were pushed west by what was described as a "seeping mass" it pervaded little by little for 2 or 3 hundred years. Later treaties were intended to give a place for the displaced americans.
The natives fought it in many ways, politicaly and physicaly in the end it was decided by who's technology was stronger. The reservations were created by sympathetic Settlers, who wanted to give them a place rather than they just be brought out by new overwhelming amounts of settlers.
You can only hope that the mexicans will be so kind as to allow you seperate lands or some level of autonomy once the culture is flooded.
Native Americans loved to hate on the new comers. They were hairy, let thier pigs run wild, didn't know how to survive in the forest, need to live in houses and such or would get sick and die. very weak and incompetent the settlers were.

No, it's not fear of change. It is knowlege of what happens when lawlessness rules the world. We don't want illegals here, period. 44 million Hispanics are enough and the portion of them that are illegal are too many. 100 million minorities are enough, period. How are we going to feed all these people? We don't have enough jobs to care for U.S. Citizens -- our treasonous Government has outsourced most of the good ones. Where are they going to work? The treasonous Government says that 400,000 more should be allowed to come in every year. Where in the hell are we going to put all these people?

Not at all. Instead of illegal immigration let's insert "car thieves" or "welfare frauds". Does it make sense like that? Illegal = against the law = a crime. That's what is "fueling" (poor choice of words) the debate.
To get into this country you must follow a certain procedure. Not jump a fence or swim a river. To own a car you must go through certain procedures. Not steal one. A crime is a crime.

It would be quite a change if 12+ million people were expelled from the country.
It'd be an even bigger change if the USA started enforcing it's immigration laws. That hasn't happened in my lifetime (and I'm not exactly young).
It would, indeed, take some courage to face such changes. Courage our political 'leaders' certainly lack.

DeMint Statement on Immigration Deal
May 17th, 2007 - Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator DeMint made the following statement:
“I hope we don't take a thousand page bill written in secret and try to ram it through the Senate in a few days. This is a very important issue for America and we need time to debate it.”
“But the little we do know about the bill is troubling. According to reports, the bill contains a new 'Z Visa' that allows those who entered our country illegally to stay here permanently without ever returning home. This rewards people who broke the law with permanent legal status, and puts them ahead of millions of law-abiding immigrants waiting to come to America. I don't care how you try to spin it, this is amnesty.”
