Is there a way to incorporate weight loss and exercise into my life without having to join weight watchers or other services like that? I guess I am just looking for some ideas because I want to get healthy and want to do it in a way that I know will keep me motivated and on task.

There definitely is a way. I lost almost 20 lbs without any weight services. These are the things I did.

- Drink more water. At least 64 ounces.
- Exercise 4x or more a week. Do something you love (I like Dance Dance Revolution and walking w/ weights).
- Eat little to no junk food (or switch to diet/sugarfree/fatfree junk food).
- The biggest of all though is watching your calories. That is what did it for me. ..

-First calculate your BMR (http://www.internetfitness.com/calculators/bmr.htm), this will show how many calories you burn naturally a day.

-Second, decide if you want to decrease that number in order to lose weight or use exercise to lose weight (or both)

- Keep track of your calories. Look on the back of packages or go to a website (like calorieking.com) to see how many calories you are eating.

This REALLY worked for me. I did it myself and never had to pay fees for a gym or join any clubs.

YES! i have no money so i am keeping a weight loss log and using mypyramid.gov to calculate my intake for free. we had to use this program in my health class at school. they have lots of good suggestions. exercising is something you should do atleast 3-4 times a week for about 45-60 minutes. atleast half of your workout should be cardio. i love the Elliptical and sometimes the treadmill when im not feeling as energized. but yeah i also swim laps to tone my muscles and if you have a double chin of some sort after a month or two it will be gone. :D but yeah thats my suggestion hope i helped.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
