No, has to be in a quart size baggie-most lip gloss is made out of petroleum jelly -jelly being the key word. Even though some are not they will not stop every single individual that has lip gloss to verify that (do you have any idea how many people come through with lip gloss). However some airports may not say or make a big deal about them as they are short handed and need to deal more with bag checks that deal with liquids that have more than 3.4 ounces such as duty free liquor that should have gone on check baggage or additional screening of persons. Best bet just put it in a baggie in your purse and take it out for viewing as you pass it through the x-ray.

Airlines expect you to bring Lip Gloss, because the air in a plane is actually drier than that in the Sahara Desert. (im serious) When you take off and are allowed to leave your seat, make sure you go to the lavatory, splash water on your lips and face and seal it in with lip gloss and cream. If you don't take your own lip gloss, on long haul flights (over 10 hours) the airlines give out complimentary amenity kits, no matter what class you fly in. This has lip gloss, mask, creams etc. to keep you looking fresh when you arrive at your destination.

I've just flown and I flew with lip gloss on the return with no problems. That was from Greece into London Gatwick. However you may want to check with the check in staff before your bag goes. Alternatively you can always buy lip gloss airside - any excuse to shop! Remember that you can only travel with one bag includes a handbag.

Lip gloss goes in the baggie. However, it's not the baggie that is limited to 3 oz. -- that refers to the size of any bottles with liquids such as contact lens cleaner.

Bring along a purse. In the purse put your wallet, tissues, some other things, and lip gloss! The purse, like everything else, has to be inspected, but will be no problem! I've done it before!
Good luck! ;)

I spent a few weeks travelling around, and it really varied per airport. Sometimes they made me put it in the plastic bag, sometimes it didn't matter. Putting it in the plastic bag isn't a big deal though, especially since you'll probably have a bag for other items anyway, so if at security they ask, you can just slip it in there, no problem.
