I had sex for the first time and I bled more than I expected. How long should I bleed? It's been quite a while and I still am bleeding a little bit. I don't think anything is really wrong but I don't know. I thought maybe he was just a little rough on me. Would that make me bleed more? I just don't know what to expect, so help!

Under normal circumstances, all that tore was your hymen. However, it's possible that he tore at the vaginal wall, which would take longer to heal and could bleed for a bit.

When a woman is a virgin and she still has her hymen in tact there is a possibility that she can bleed and that is not abnormal. However it should not be excessive amounts of blood. I don’t know how long you have been continuing to bleed but if it has been more than two days I would suggest that you see a doctor and get it checked out.

Good Luck!

If he was rough you will definitely go through a worse time for it.

The bleeding should be very minimal.

Dang I don't remember. LOL If you are bleeding heavily and/or have pain go to the doctor. If not I would just wait it out.

Largegrasseatingmonster has answered it best -- a split in the wall can happen, but just in case, make an appointment to see your regular family doctor or gyn.

He could have been a little rough and you could just be starting your period early too. There is no timetable since everyones body will react differently.

it probably ripped some of the tissue and it will stop soon after a few days. If it's not heavy and is just light then it is normal.

it's probably that you got your period. because sometimes sex can effect your cycle. treat it like a period and if it doesn't go away you should probably talk to your mom. the first time always hurts. its best to be gentle. don't have sex for a while.
