Depending on where you are, you'll need to dial a code to get an international line. Here in the U.S., it's 011 (but that won't help you, will it?).

Once you have the international line, you will need to dial 1 to get to the U.S., then the three digit area code, then the seven digit phone number.

Yes. You need the country code-you can look it up on Google. For the US it is +1 followed by the area code and fax number. (it might require a 00 +1). Same as phone calls to foreign countries.

The Procedure will vary considerably between countries. just as different languages developed , different procedures also developed for phone/fax calls to places within and outside those countries. You would be much better off researching this where the call begins instead of where it ends.
