Mine didn't hurt too much, until I bit it by accident! Ouch! I just took some tylenol, and make sure you eat soft foods, like mashed potatoes, soup, yogurt. Nothing you have to chew very much. Don't worry, it doesn't last too long, maybe a day or two. Also lots of cool drinks, just don't drink beer, too much yeast in it, you'll get an infection, if you're gonna drink alcohol, drink vodka.

I know many people drink Frozen milkshakes to help with the pain. The cold helps numb The area. Also take Advil soft gel capsules four times daily.

honestly your tongue heals faster than most of your body parts. i suggest you eat really soft foods and like alot of others have suggested ice cream and Popsicles. avoid anything salty because it burns extremely bad if it gets inside your new piercing. should heal in no time and you'll love it!
make sure not to put any metal tongue rings in as they may allow you to chip your teeth by accident. good luck to you!!

Chew ice chips and take ibuprofen according to the instructions on the package. Both will help with pain and swelling.
