BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE ANGRY OR DON'T KNOW HOW TO TURN OFF CAPS LOCK.

If that's your type of handwriting, then I don't think it's rude, especially if it's really neat. hehe. and if it's not huge, it shouldn't be a problem.

the only reason people associate yelling with uppercase letters is because it's bigger, and has been used to communicate anger and raising of voice. so if u're uppercase letters are small, and not as the typed font in uppercase, you should be just fine.

Those who think it's rude is just weird. =D

I agree with Mas Tequila, it does kind of hurt. It hurts my eyes, it makes me think they're angry, and it makes my ears ache like someone just yelled really loud into one. Eek! I use it as emphasis, like if I were writing an email or IMing someone, I might type, "I would NEVER do that." Or something along those lines. Also, to me, I can stand reading it just as much as I can stand reading "txt tlk" which iz wen u type liek dis, and i rEalLy dOn'T LiEk wHEn SuM1 tYpEs LiKe ThIS ... it's just kind of annoying, it shows immaturity and it's bad "netiquette". Just take the time to use somewhat decent typing skills ... it doesn't take that long to type regularly! Blatant grammar mistakes also drive me crazy, but I won't go there .... (I said blatant, I don't mind minor ones ... )

As others have pointed out:

It's considered shouting and
it's hard to read.

I've been using the net for so long now, that when I read an all caps post or e-mail, I can actually hear the screaming in my head! It hurts to read it! Anyone else get that or am I just as weird as the hubby says I am?

It's perceived as yelling. And since most people write in a sentence case it's harder to read when it's all upper case and the letters are pretty much the same height.

It's not really, but it does give off the idea that you may be mad. I guess it depends on what the letter is saying.

It's harder to read, in addition to the concept of "yelling" in an email.
