It depends on whether you want an opinion. If I don't assert:
"There is no God," ... then I can't *reasonably say*:
"There is no Santa,"
"There is no Odin,"
"There is no FSM,"
"There is no Bigfoot,"
"There are no gnomes,"
"There are no black cats,"
"There are no bent-spoons," etc. etc.
It comes down to consistency of belief and asserting same.

I'm not exactly a religious person... never have been; but, the way I see it, if God exists, then the proof is in the pudding, so to speak. If we, as human beings, can't look around us and see what being alive has created over the span of human existence-- if we can't see God's Hand in human ingenuity, then obviously, we need to be looking elsewhere.

I'd say, if there's proof of God anywhere, then it would have to be something encoded into our DNA that would tell us whether we think/know that God is or isn't real. Since the beginning of time, mankind has looked for something-- anything really-- that is greater than ourselves. If humankind was made in God's Image, then it would have been an image we shared before the Physical Realm and The Pit were created (back before the Angelic Wars, a.k.a., the argument between Lucifer and God)... it would stand to reason, no? If we were put on earth in the physical likeness of God, then that would have encoded God into our genetics from day one; that's my reason for thinking that human DNA would be a good place to start looking for proof of God. This is my argument based on the Existence of God.

And I'm sure there's at least one flaw in there somewhere... such as, if the argument God and Lucifer were having displeased God so much as to create a realm specifically meant for punishment, then why would God have ever created a being He would clash so vehemently against? The only real answer I can come up with is Free Choice. And, I would think that it would have been something Lucifer would have agreed to do, rather than something he was forced to do. That's still heresay, I know, but this is the argument to debunk Organized Religion.

But, there's really only one thing can be said for God. Free Choice has given us the ability to choose our own path... whether we want to be Mormon, Catholic, Muslim, Agnostic, whatever... we have that choice. I have my own ideas on who God is, and they're ideas of my own, so religion be damned, as far as I'm concerned. Just because you don't believe in religion doesn't mean you should also turn your back on God... there's a huge difference between the two. If evidence enough can't be found to persuade one way or the other, then find your own path. It's better than having none at all.

It takes faith to believe whatever it is you believe.
If you believe there is no God... that takes faith. If you believe there is a God (as I do), that takes faith. Personally, I can't help but think that the magnificence of this creation happened without a divine Creator. When I think of the complexity just within the human eye... to me there is nothing that could convince me that Someone didn't design that.
I believe there is evidence for God. But you have to decide to see it as that.
I think that by default, humans will recognize that there must be a God, but some will choose to see a lack of evidence and therefore not believe, while others will see evidence all around them, and believe in Him.

You cannot scientifically prove a supernatural being because a science proves things based on the laws of nature, but God transcends the laws of nature and is not bound by them. The only scientific indication for a deity could be showing how those laws of nature have been broken or require supernatural intervention, or Providence. For instance people cannot walk on water. A magician can craft a clever illusion to make it look so, but a deity could easily walk on water.

So it merely depends on if you have seen/believe the laws of nature have been breached by some Higher Power. If so, then that is evidence for a God.

Evidence against God can be found within the pages of the bible.

There may be a god, but not the one in the bible.

Default is atheist until there is reason to believe in a god.

Agnostic is a fencesitting. No need to make a position out of indecision.

The default lacking evidence is that the agent or principle does not exist, while acknowledging the possibility.

Therefore, the ultimate logical default is agnostic atheism -- belief there is no deity, while acknowledging the possibility.

It's worth mentioning, though, that there is plenty of evidence against the existence of a deity.

First of all.....a lack of evidence would be a lack of you and this world including you being here. This planet and all life on it is itself evidence to intelligent design. If you looked at a house...you would not say "Where is the evidence that there is a builder?" Home Depot didn't explode and leave behind a built and painted house! There was obviously someone who purposely built the house. The only thing you don't know is who built it?

If you are an athiest, you deny that there is any form of a God or diety. If you are agnostic, you are just not sure either way, so you keep your mind open until you find evidence of one or the other. So since in your eyes there is no evidence either way, you are agnostic.

It is faith that carries us thru the night seasons and the little miracles that come our way to affirm that God is really there. I have had some mighty miracles in my life so I know He's there. I've been lucky with Him. I have had my dark nights of the soul and pulled thru every time. He never left me or forsook me. When I almost died in 1992, I saw that we get something peaceful and good for our efforts here. But I was spared, I believe, to raise my children. But I know when my day comes to breathe my last, I'll be there with Him.

Just a lack of reason, and clear thinking.
There is plenty of evidence for the existence of God but most don't want to face the moral challenges that the living God demands so they just blame something else and call it lack of evidence.

When there is no evidence to prove something the default position is it doesn't exist

Are you agnostic about fairies? Unicorns? Homer Simpson
