i've covered quite a few tatoos in my time, but i've only used professional stage makeup to do so (ben nye brand). there are several different methods, but i'll tell you the one i've had the most success with. you will need: stage makeup in colors yellow, white, and your natural skin tone, and a good quality loose powder of your natural skin tone. first get your yellow and make a smooth, slightly thick layer to completely cover the tattoo. powder generously with a big soft brush. add a second layer of white, powder generously again. finally add a layer of your natural skin tone, blending around the edges to make it look more natural, then powder again both on and around the area, blend blend blend. you should practice this several times several weeks before the big day to make sure you get it down, and make sure to keep the makeup on hand for touchups. be very careful to not let your arm rub on your dress. hope this helps, best of luck!
and shame on those people criticizing you!

I'm not sure where it is but I will make the suggestions I can. If it's by your wrist, try a corsage, even though you will have a bouquet of flowers that will also be a classy touch and provide cover, or even gloves, white glves were used in the 40's - the early 60's as another clssy touch. If you don't want to show this, it may be possible to find a good make up to conceal this tattoo or garder band may help. Even getting a matching jacket for your gown. But in all honesty honey, I'm sure it will be fine covered or not. This is mainly because, the art on your arm will not make a bad impression and I'm sure you will still be a beautiful bride either way. Congrats on the wedding. Good Luck

I am shocked at how ignorant people are! A tattoo is no more a part of who you are than a body piercing. The tattoo may be permanent, but piercings leave scars too. Maybe you've grown out of you tattoo or just want to cover it for the wedding day. It's completely understandable. I have one on my back that was a gift from my ex that I would love to cover (no, it doesn't say his name on it - I just never thought the design through) but probably won't even attempt if your makeup wheel didn't work. I'd say your best bet is to try a shawl and make sure you're using the shawl for the pictures.
And to everyone who says "get it removed": removing a tattoo takes a few tries and isn't guaranteed - not to mention it's expensive. So it isn't the most practical choice for everyone.

Is this a tattoo you're embarrassed about? If not, just let it show! It can be a beautiful, unique addition to your wedding attire. I also have a tattoo on my shoulder blade and it'll be showing during my wedding. It's something that is a part of you and you should be proud to show it off!
Now, if it's ugly and you just don't like it anymore, that's different! You will need to buy professional quality make-up to cover it. You can get this at any high-end make-up shop or somewhere that sells costume make-up. You will most likely be able to tell that something has been covered up, though it probably won't show that much in the photos.

You need professional quality foundation, the type used in film. I would call a dermatoligist or plastic surgeon's office to find out what brands they recommend for patients trying to cover up scarring. You can also go to a theatre supply place and ask someone there..they should be able to suggest something. Finally, do an online search for covering scarring with makeup...Max Factor had something at one time, but am not sure about now.

Try a high end salon that does make up and ask them to give you suggestions for make up that can cover up the tattoos. A stage and screen make up artist would be the best bet, but they are not always accessible.
You may want to try a MAC store and ask them about cover up. Tanning solutions will darken your skin, but you will still see the tattoo.
Good luck.

That is the only problem with tattoos hey, they are permanent!
Look I wouldnt bother trying to hide it. It is a part of you.
If the cover up wheel doesnt work, be very careful if you decide to use make up or other cover ups, they could get on and stain your dress.

I would say let it be. Make-up will likely just get all over your dress and your husbands tux, not to mention if you'll be dancing at your wedding, everyone you dance with could potentially get your make-up all over them as well. Do you really want to worry about that all day anyway? You have more important things to concentrate on! Enjoy your day and live with your body the way that it is! If you choose, your photographer can airbrush out the tat in your pics, otherwise just enjoy your day!
You could always have your bridesmaids put on fake tats around their arms so you wont feel left out, have fun with it! It's your day.

I must admit a tattoo on a bride does not look very nice,it spoils the look of the strapless dress, what about a lace garter to match the dress instead of wearing it on the leg?.

Why do you want to cover it up. There is nothing wrong with a woman having a tattoo and you shouldnt feel you need to cover it. I have on on my right hand by my thumb of three hearts. Im proud of my tat because, as is usually the case, it means something special. I dont feel any reason for it to be covered.
