you should consult whomever prepared your taxes this year. they will tell you how to set up your exemptions which will tell you how many exemptions to claim(how much tax will be withheld from your checks for state and federal taxes) you will probably end up claiming yourself and your son and husband if you are married. may people have more tax withheld to create a forced savings. the form you will be asked to complete is a w-4. you can view this form at irs.gov.

I always recommend the withholding calculator on the IRS website. It considers more factors than the worksheet with the W-4. Your information is not enough to give an accurate answer.
