Do you have to go outside to get a natural suntan?

what if your inside and there is a window? does the window block the sun from tanning you? can you get a tan while you're in a bus?

It is not likely you will get a tan throug the window unless the house you are in was built before 1950, I think, but 99% of the houses people live in today are made so that they are protected from the UV rays. You can always just get it sprayed on.
