if you are trying to lose weight you have to do cardio 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then start burning fat) and combine it with light weight training

To get the best results, do at least 20 minutes of strength training as well. That way you build muscle, which will make your 20 minutes of cardio more effective at burning calories. You should strength train about 2 or 3 times a week but make sure you rest a day in between. They have some moves at glamour.com (Body by Glamour). Take it easy though (my thighs are killing me from that workout :P)

20 minutes DEFINITELY makes a difference, and don't you let anyone tell you it's not enough! I lost 50 pounds (was a fat kit and fat teenager -- finally lost 50 pounds at age 27), and all I did was 20 minutes/day, about 4x/week! And, after a while doing the cardio, I found I could eat more than when I started, because, I'm guessing, my body had become more efficient at burning fat.

Good job!

Something is always better than nothing so you are on the right track! It really depends on what your goal is. If you are trying to lose weight and aren't seeing any results then maybe you need to increase. If you are just trying to stay healthy and do some exercise each day, then you're fine!

In my opinion you should do 30 a day 6 times a week. If you are not seeing any changes, then you need to work a little harder :) Challenge yourself!

Any activity burns calories and as long as the number burned equals the number eaten you will remain the same weight, if the number you burn exceeds the number eaten you will lose. If you burn enough in the 20 minutes then you are good.

as long as you keep your heart rate above normal. walking five miles and keeping your hrt rate up does the same cardio that running five miles gives you, and minus the shin splints.
