A father's devotion to his children. Women come and go, but your children are your flesh and blood. They come first always. Then your wife or girlfriend.

Your relationship with your wife is second only to your relationship with God. Your devotion to your children comes after your wife. Your children will grow up, leave home and start their own families, if you have not nourished your marriage what will you have left when they have left home?

If you have a girlfriend, then your devotion to your children takes precedence.

I can already see that many people disagree with what I am saying but the husband/wife relationship is more important than a parent/child relationship. Loving parents in a strong marital relationship is one of the most valuable gifts that you can give your children. It teaches children how to love and respect their spouse. Always putting children ahead of the marital relationship sets an example of disrespect for the institution of marriage.

I am not advocating neglecting your child's needs, just making sure that the needs of the marriage have priority.

If you are married and have children with your wife, your primary responsiblity is to be devoted to your wife. The best way to love your children is to love your wife. Children feel safest and secure when parents are devoted to each other.

If you divorce your wife - stay devoted to your children. Make them your number one priority and save your love life for later days when your children are grown up.

If you chose to remarry, do so with great care and some real good counseling. It is very difficult to juggle your devotion between a new spouse and hurting children.

Well all three are 3 types of love. So they are equal and all very real. Your children will leave the nest but you will always be important to them and they are a part of your happiness. Your wife is the one by your side forever. Your partner and bestfriend and that's how it's going to be. Always.

I don't think that this is a fair question. I think that a father should be devoted to all equally.
