Well, im naturally a scientific person, i like to know why things happen and how they happened. I've never once looked at the human race and thought well God put us all here, its always been we evolved from a more basic organism. And theres no argueing with me here, i believe what i believe. But i am curious to hear about stories where people believe that God has come down and touched them. Not B/S answers like God is real cause the bible says so. I mean REAL life stories where people have been in desperation and some "higher being" whether or not you like to call it God or not, has come and guided them through their trouble. And no stories like when my daughter was born, God was definitely blessing me. Birth is an everyday experience, albeit a beautiful one im looking for real stories. Example: i once heard one from a woman who was walking the beach contemplating suicide and she found a sand dollar she looked up and asked God if she should just end it here and to give her a sign to st

ay alive. She said she asked him to let her find three more sand dollars, as she walked down the beach a few more steps there they were three sand dollars in a perfect row. She has now accepted God as her savior. I'm looking for stories like these. Anybody ever had an experience like this? please share it with me, im trying to be more opened minded with this religion thing.

Just trying to avoid people trying to convince me that god created all people and stupid arguements like that. Just want to hear real life stories about people who believe God touched them, so i can better understand the way he works and maybe start to believe myself. Dont leave snooty answers.

My story is not as exciting as some of the others. I pray for friends, loved ones and anyone and everyone all the time. However about 2 months ago I was very worried about a friend getting in trouble (personal issue) I prayed for this person every day for 2 weeks. Being that it was an embarrassing situation to come out and ask this person, I didn't know the outcome. Finally I was at work and I just prayed (quietly to myself) that God just give me a sign that everything was OK. Then I kind of laughed to myself thinking I don't know what he could possibly do to let me know~ Well about 5 minutes later the phone rang and it was the wrong number~ it was a lady trying to call a church! : ) Good luck & Peace be with you~

I had not seen my 1st love for 10 yrs while I was married to someone else. I was living a miserable life under depression. My ex husband never loved me but he wouldn't leave either. So I was at a point that I was becoming ill and probably would've ended up in a hospital or jail. I prayed & I prayed for God to give me a sign...if I should stay or leave my husband. I called it a miracle of God because if it wasn't for this....I probably would still be married living a miserable life...sacrificing my happiness for my children. Then the day came, I saw my 1st in TV....his family had suffered a tragedy. Not only that but 2 months later, I bumped into his uncle @a local pool that I've been attending for more than 10 yrs. Never before did I ever see him or anyone of his relatives.....it was just God being always on my side always giving me signs when I feel desperate not knowing answers......that is why I love & believe in Jesus Christ! And this is only 1 of the many times he's been there for me :) and can be for you too :)

When I was a child, my two sisters and I were sharing a float at the beach and were not very far out in the water. We were the ages 8, 10, & 12. Without warning, we were being pulled out to sea by an undertoe. We were scared and panicing. We were all three holding on to the float. My oldest sister was digging her toes into the bottom of the ocean and trying to pull us in. The middle sister was in a panic state and was almost in shock, it was a look I will never forget. Her eyes were in a daze and all she could say was Oh, God, Oh, God. I was just scared and praying and crying. My mother heard us screaming, she couldn't swim and didn't know what to do. All I can say is, we went from one moment of horror and like a scene change on a television show were we just walking out of the water. Later on our mother told us when she saw her three babies out there helpless, all she could do was ask "God, am I going to have to watch my babies drown?" It was at that moment we were thrushed back to the shore. There's probably a simple scientific explanation of an undertoe and being thrust back to shore, but I've never tried to explain God away because I need him too much. God created science. I can't trust science if I can't trust God.

I have been through quite a few unpleasant ordeals in my life...one of them being struggling with depression.
Last year, I was REALLY down in the dumps. I was feeling lonely and lost. I turned in early for the night and started saying my prayers. I kept asking God where he was. Why was He leaving His servant all alone? Wasn't I doing a decent job trying to follow Him and do His will? I belabored the point until I fell asleep.
That night, I got really hot under my covers. (Virtually impossible as I lived in a very drafty apartment at the time and it was the dead of winter!). I had a very vivid dream that I remember to this day. I found myself at the Lord's feet. He was dressed in a white robe, but had on a red and black flannel shirt over it. (not sure why). There was a very bright aura around Him - He was glowing. He was sitting on a cot inside what looked like a little mud hut. I was sitting on the dirt floor. When I realized it was Him, I started sobbing uncontrollably. He started talking to me. He told me that He knew I was doing the best I could. He said that He knew people were mistreating me (and they were at the time). Then He said that life is not always easy, but it is definately temporary. He reminded me that He died in order to give us all eternal life. He reached down and touched my head. And I held onto his gown and kept sobbing, putting my head in His lap.
That was the end of the dream. I woke up, hot and sweaty with tears streaming down my face. It was the most beautiful dream I've ever had. The experience was so powerful, there is no way to explain it but to say that it was God.

I don't think you should write off the Bible so quickly. Much of the Bible is what you are looking for, stories written by people from their experiences with God. Since you seem to put some level of credibility into someone's story on here I think that logically the Bible would also deserve the same level of credibility.

How about this one? My husband and I were in desperate need of a house to rent and were having no luck whatsoever finding one. We prayed together asking God to provide by a specific date (we chose my birthday). Well, it got closer and closer to our "deadline" and our faith started to falter. The morning of my birthday my husband and I got in a terrible fight and each of us stormed off to cool down. I went to my sister in laws and she "just happened" to see an ad in the classifieds for a house that sounded like what we were looking for. I called, went out to see it, and signed the lease by 2:30pm that day. The owner is a Christian, as well, and said he knew right away that the Lord wanted us to live there!
I hope this helps with your search. I have so many stories like this! God is good...all the time!

You are going to get a lot better answers in the "Religion and Spiritituality" section of answers. This one is for mental health issues, and I would not categorize belief in God as a mental health issue.

God performs miracles every day in our lives, like the miracle that every day, with the way I drive and the idiots around here that don't know how to drive, I don't get into an accident going to or from work.

You are preaching to people how to write a story about God, You are saying what not to put about God. What if when someones child was born it was their blessing from God, I think you need to open your Bible, read in Psalms it's nice and have your own blessings.

My mom told me that when she was younger she saw an angel. It was right after her sister-in-law, Corky, died and she was praying that Corky would be ok and go to heaven. She turned around a there was this beautiful angel who just smiled at her and then disappeared. God sent her an angel to let her know that Corky was ok.
