Lemon juice and Hydrogen Perioxide worked on my hair when I was younger and my mom didn't let me dye my hair. =)

Yes you can use lemon juice to make it lighter but be careful as hair could dry out especially in the sun.

If you put lemon juice in your hair and lay out in the sun it makes it lighter.

Lighter: peroxide, lemon juice, lemon juice mixed with water
Darker: rinse with coffee or black tea, see a darker result in a week or two.
