Ripe bananas and Cheerios. My daughters loved it.
Put a quarter cup Cheerios in a shallow bowl (non-breakable) add one ripe banana cut into managable hunks.
Place before the child and hope that no one visits until the child is cleaned up.
This is a bit messy, but children like to feed themselves. This is finger food. And it is good for them.

if you do a search on it, there are a lot of good recipes-my son eats tablefood at 10 months and he loves peas and carrots and lunch meat and noodles. Try something like chicken and carrots-throw it in a crockpot for 8 hours on low.

Mine just eat whatever we eat.
If it is for a group of kids coming to visit hot dogs, sandwiches, or pasta usually do best.

My little guy loved mac and cheese, spaghetti, mashed potatoes, peas, rice, chicken, and cooked carrots at that age.
