one way is to do some weightlifting or resistance training. muscle requires a lot of energy to sustain, so if you build more muscle then your metabolism will increase.

metabolism is basically how fast we burn calories...some people's are naturally faster or slower than others. But lean muscle speeds metabolism, exercise like running and being active instead of sedentary also contributes to a faster metabolism.

Lots of ways. Here are just a few:
1. Eat smaller meals and snacks more often (5-6 per day).
2. Exercise- remember intensity is more important than duration.
3. Caffeine- in appropriate quantities can boost the rate you burn your calories.
4. Eat more fiber
5. Eat a diet higher in protein, mono- and poly-unsaturated fats, and complex carbs.
Hope this helps. There are many great sites online just try a search.

Smaller more frequent meals. You really are so much "speeding it up" as you are making it more efficient. Obviously eat proper and exercise as well.
To expand - if you eat more frequently your body attempts to burn everything it can for energy. Once your body is trained that it will get frequent meals it operates most efficiently. If you go hours and hours between meals then your body tries to store as much as possible and turn what it can into fat for long term energy use. This is one of the big reasons that once people get off of a "starvation diet" they quickly gain weight back because the body is storing food for the potential next long period without food.

Yep. You can do this by eating 5-6 small meals a day.
It is healthier, not to mention, you trick your body/mind/metabolism into being faster...
You always become fuller faster.
