If there was any truth to what your saying,
the christian belief system wouldnt really
have enough of an impact to even write
about.
Thanks for enhancing christianity, there must be something to it then.

I also think it is a sorry assumption that Christians assume these things as you say. The worst thing about it is that all Christians do not think this way, yet because some do all Christians are normally blanketed in with them.
It is great when people won't bow down to anything. That way they can do what they think best and when it doesn't work out it is easy to blame others for messing up their good decisions. Or they can take responsibility for their bad decisions and work harder at making the right ones. That way when their hard work pays off they can pat themselves on the back and tell everyone how hard they have worked to become a great success and they can write a book encouraging others to follow in their footsteps (of course just follow, don't actually bow down to their principles, that would be anti-self) Or if they do fail after working so hard, they go work hard in another area and keep that up until they die. Not bowing to anything is awesome. Self Rules!

Well I am a Christian and I don't associate myself "spiritually" to any religious organization. Religion is man made and corrupt, a relationship with God isn't.
Is everyone a "Christian" because someone told them? Hmmmm, can this logic apply all the way across the board? Does everyone buy the best new Truck on every commercial because someone told them, or do they research on their OWN and decide what Truck works for them... etc.
God reveals Himself to folks on a personal level, and a spiritual level, certainly if you're intrested you will be more OPEN to the revealing than someone closed minded, as with anything. If you close your eyes you don't see anything.
That's my take.

No, I don't think they believe everyone is religious. They may believe everyone OUGHT to be, but that is a very different thing, of course.
Not being a Christian myself, I get a little tired of atheists who assume that it is Christianity or materialism, and no other choices. In fact, there are hundreds of choices. Many are not much into ritual, many do not bow down in any relevant sense. I think a good course in comparative religion would be in order.

I think you are on to something. Poor Carl believes what others have told him to believe for the last 2000 years, and he doesn't even know why. I am left to wonder what he would have believed if he had lived 3000 years ago--there was no Bible, Jesus, or Christian God back then. Had he lived in ancient Egypt, he probably would have believed in Osiris and Ra, and would not have been able to imagine why others did not. After all, hadn't his ancestors believed in Ra for thousands of years? It was those damned Romans that eventually ruined it!

You atheists are the ones running after the latest fads, as worldviews come and go, and fretting about what others think.
I just believe what has been believed for 2000 years by those who made Western civilization.
You are the ones destroying it now.

How smug of you. Since I am not a member of either group you mention, I am free to stand outside the respective camps and see the SIMILARITIES of the thought processes. There are different ways to bow down.
