we did a debate in debating club about it - i thought we had some prettygod points:
- it can't make you happier but can buy a better class of misery
- the rich eg band aid raise money rather than education
- everything runs on money - it's all nice to say we as humans are above it but sadly, we aren't
- however, the poor must really need money too - what would you do without it? - it would either become barter or communism, one of which doesn't work seeing as the guy who has the idea is obviously not equal to everyone else - he's in charge, and barter is money really - coins just formalize it
so yeah, i guess i disagree : it causes a lot of problems, but it seems like whichever way u look at it, people need it!
ps - mibandibee - if u have 2 cars you are rich - unless u live in america

People who say money is the root of all evil don't know their Bible because that's not what it says! 1 Timothy 6:10 says it's the LOVE of money that leads to evil.
The Bible has a God-fearing person pray, "Give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, 'Who is the Lord?' Or I may become poor and steal and so dishonor the name of my God" (Porverbs 30:8).

People who say money is the root of all evil also don't know their scripture. Scripture says LOVE OF money is the root of all evil.

Well:
We all know that "women need time and money", so:
Women = time * money
We know that "time is money", so:
Women = money * money,
We know that "money is the root of all evil", and so:
Women = sqrt(evil) * sqrt(evil)
(sqrt = square root sign)
And so, logic tells us now that:
Women = evil
As the sqrt of any number multiplied by its self is the number, ie evil
So, conclusion: Women are evil.

Actually false. And it is the "love" of money is the root of all evil.
I know many who have a lot of money and still believe this and God has shown them to spend it wisely and to glorify Him- and they are BIG time givers!
God takes care of me and my family even though we are not rich with worldy money, we are rich in Him, and we have a home, 2 cars, food, my husband has a wonderful job, even if it does not pay high---- God provides and I am glad He has shown us we do not need a lot of money to make us happy- OF COURSE everyone would like "more" money....but I often think if I were stinkin rich would I waste it frivilously? (Spelling?)
Maybe I would.....because our flesh is definately weak!
