I've been talking to a guy for a few months. We both said that we really liked eachother. But we are just friends right now and getting to know eachother. The other night on instant messenger, at the end of our conversation he said "I have alot of respect for you as a woman and I would never try to hurt you" Does that mean that he likes me and could possibly be serious about me? Guys dont say that kind of stuff to a girl if they are not seriously interested right?

I think you are really lucky to have such a great guy. It does not sound as if he has feelings for you yet, but, that you can count on him. Just take is slow and see where it leads.

I think he just means he has a lot of respect for you as a woman and would never try to hurt you. Don't read too much into it, he might not mean it the way you think. But if you're open enough to eachother, just ask him.

Sounds to me like you got yourself a good one! You should respect that he's trying to take it slow - he probably respects you if he's wanting to get to know you first. I think being friends with a guy works out best, for me at least. That way you can decide if you want to be with him while you guys are just friends - it's sucks finding out you don't like someone when you're already dating. So I would stay interested and I think he definitely likes you and respects you!!

He sounds nice but that in itself isn't a sign that he is interested. If he asked you out, then yeah!!! Other than that, give it time and see what happens. I think you're reading too much into what he's saying, which can lead to major disappointment!

I would say he's interested. Maybe tell him you'd like to do something, if you're both living in the same town. If it's just internet, I wouldn't worry all that much.

if a guy said this to me personally, i would think that they want something more than just a friendship :-) and if hes telling you he respects you and would never hurt you, then he truely cares about you- hes the one
