In the interest of sceince I decided to conduct an experiment.

I asked several procative Anti Atheists questions and several provocative anti Christian questions.

I recieved 3 violations for my Anti Atheists questions and none for my Anti Christian (religion) questions.

Also looking at the answers I recieved the Christians on here were less likely to insult me, or to answer defensivly.

So does this mean that Christians or more tolerant of diverging opinions and open to debate then Atheists?

I totally agree and it seems that there is a great deal of hypocracy here. The same thing happens in the illegal immigrant questions and the gay questions; the people who are clearly on the wrong side of the argument claim hate speech or ignorance of the questioner and get the questions thrown off.

If you compare the types of questions the Christian members of this forum post with the types of questions many (not all, so don't write me complaining that you write nice thoughtful questions) Atheist members of this forum post, you will find that because the Atheist think they know everything about the universe (claming that God does not exist without having ABSOLUTE proof; because without infinite knowledge it is impossible to know 100% for sure) you will find that their cockyness leads to asking acidic, pointless, and down right stupid questions. They think they know everything so instead they ask offensive questions to try and discourage the believers from reaching out to those who have genuine questions. They also post nasty comments on questions where people are actively seeking God...saying nothing thoughtful but "There is no God, why are you asking this question?" or "God is imaginary." It's sad and pathetic.

great idea for an experiment!, but not perfectly executed. looking at your questions, i could hardly tell which were supposed to be which. but great idea.

you might try asking the same question to each party. ask why are Christians smarter then atheists, then ask why are atheists smarter then Christians. this would make sure that each party is equally insulted and remove the chance of a bias or misunderstanding sneaking in. that would be more scientific.

i would love to see some cleaner results, this would be fun with politics too.

. (The physical world) Some Christians choose to only understand the other half. (The spiritual world) But many Christians are also scientist and as such they have true wisdom in understanding the connection between the physical and spiritual worlds.

Also, aside from the sample size of my earlier post to your other identical question, are you quite sure the questions would be equally offensive to both sides? I've gone through your profile looking and frankly it's hard to me to tell which questions you're talking about.

This was a very poorly-conducted study.

I disagree.

And I too get a lot of christian E-mails Got another one today. About how our for fathers were Christian and that the Constitution says we are a Christian country. Someone must have never read the Constitution or know anything about our for fathers.

Sorry I missed the debate.

Some Christians actually care for mankind.

I would tend to agree with the results of your experiment, based on what I've seen here in the past year since I've been coming to this forum.

Atheism is generally considered more sophisticated, more intellectual, one might even say more fashionable. They have decided that belief of any kind is irrational, but they forget that they are effectively believers in materialism.

People who think they are smarter than others tend to get sneering and mocking, forgetting their manners.
