In thhe interest of sceince I decided to conduct an experiment.
I asked several procative Anti Atheists questions and several provocative anti Christian questions.
I recieved 3 violations for my Anti Atheists questions and none for my Anti Christian (religion) questions.
Also looking at the answers I recieved the Christians on here were less likely to insult me, or to answer defensivly.
So does this mean that Christians or more tolerant of diverging opinions and open to debate then Atheists?
(btw OFF TOPIC I also asked several Anti Brit questions . And they seem the most touchy people of the lot)

You didn't give enough information for me to say. How many anti-atheist questions did you ask? How many anti-Christian questions did you ask? What were the questions that you considered to be anti-atheist or anti-Christian? Which way do you swing (so to speak) on the theism scale? Could that have influenced the wording of the questions or in any other way coloured the results? How did you make sure that the questions asked were equally negative? You're also jumping from a small sample size to a conclusion about ALL atheists or ALL Christians. How did you make sure that your sample was representative? Etc. etc. etc. For something that was done in the interest of science, it doesn't sound very scientific to me. Not without additional information.

It seems to be a toss-up. But in making it an atheist vs. Christian debate, you are ignoring other touchy people.
The problem is not generally the question, but the manner in which it is stated. Many are not even really questions, but just rants or sarcasm, rude and crude, mocking and sneering.
Wouldn't we be much better off being polite to one another, and really trying to find out what other people believe and why?

A hardcore activist Atheist who harbors anti-Christian ideals is more likely to be a reactive young person than the typical Christian, in my experience. Therefore, I wouldn't doubt that the types of Atheist or anti-Christian people you find on a web forum devoted to such discussion appear much more intolerant than the Christians themselves.
Your experiment should consider the demographic tendencies of the people you're discussing. The liberals who spend their time on forums might be a little more immature on multiple levels than the Christians who spend their time on forums. I can't be sure, but it might be a factor.
This doesn't imply that either ideology is wrong, but age and experience play a major role in someone's reactivity, tolerance, politeness, and maturity of responses.

Im not sure as to what your actual questions were so I cant be sure.
Im an atheist but I wouldnt insult you or bash you etc. If it was a remark that irked me in some way i.e. infallibility of the pope or something then I would engage in a debate or post a respectful reply but I would insult you for having an opinion contrary to mine. Why that would be just hypocritical.

There's your problem.
Just because you are an Atheist it doesn't mean you're anti-Christian.
That said, Christians are the most intolerant as far as faith goes. If they tell me God exists, I tell them it is their choice to believe. If I tell them God doesn't exist then I am damned, I am going to Hell, I will be tortured in the internal firey depths.
You need to go and ponder you use of "anti" because you will actually nark a whole lot of people off by using that.

I just reply to the topic as I see it. I don't really have too many buttons left to push in life. I refute hate-mongering when it happens, but otherwise I don't care what people think of me and what I believe. I also don't generally rate people's answers nor report, so you might want to put your wide brush away and find a finer one to paint with.
