I don't think that would be correct. I think that an atheist would be free from religion all together.
I think that they cannot worship a devil because as an atheists, one has nothing to worship.
The whole concept of good and evil is an idea set forth by most religions to allow the leaders of the respective religion to have control over their followers.
I think the whole concept of evolution isn't even a religious argument, except by those who choose to stand on their soap boxes and cast stones.

The definition of atheist is: "one who believes that there is no deity" So the worship of evolution as a deity would automatically make the worshiper something other than an athiest.

How can a concept (evolution) be a being, let alone an illogical being (your omnipotent god)? See this is where you make yourselves look really BAD in arguments and wonder why some people make fun of you, which is NOT what I'm doing, just trying to point out where you're just tripping all over yourself trying to stir the poo pot.

Well wide of the mark.
To say we worship reality might be less misleading, though it's still not perfectly accurate.
A good scientist (And being human, there are bad ones)
will sacrifice his much beloved theory on the altar of truth, should new evidence go against it.
The aether, phlogiston, N-rays, the health benefits of radium, and the canals of Mars have all been proclaimed, cherished and been slain.

As an atheist, I worship nothing. I have no god.
I do believe science is a great tool to learn things about our world, but I don't worship anything.

Evolution is only a big deal because the Christians turned it into one. If the Christians were so vocally opposed to the idea of continental drift, then that's what we'd all be talking about.

No as there is a vast difference between worship and the acceptance of scientific fact. Atheists do not believe in any deity period.

Evolution is NOT a religion.
Whether you believe in evolution or not, it helps us to understand the nature and the earth we are living in.
The purpose of evolution is not to go against creation.

Why do theists keep doing this? I mean really, why are you always trying to assign religious qualities to atheism? What is there not to get? We don't believe in a god of any kind. Beyond that, and atheist can be a buddhist, spiritulist, satanist, humanist, or none of the above. But there is no god. That's it.

Yes, we do venerate science, facts, education and reason. Common sense is right up there on the list, too. But we don't WORSHIP anything. That's your job.
