Isn't judgment day the day that our (all of us) deeds are weighed and we obtain our sentence for eternity (heaven or hell)?
Why is it that in Christianity the belief is that when an individual dies he/she goes to heaven or hell immediately but the bible and the denominations still teach of judgment day? What is the point of judgment day in Christianity if the belief is that Christians don't have to attend only the already damned have to attend?

One-Way, this is very interesting. I was not aware of this story. I am wondering if this pope actually read the Quran and that is where he got his information. The Quran said this 1400 years ago.

Good question, Sarah:

Judgment day is coming; in fact, regardless of what the Medieval church taught as a unit, the Bible will predomonate.

There was a pope about 800 years ago that read the Bible. Pope John XXII discovered that when one dies he doesn't go to heaven or hell, but the grave. Then he awaits the Judgment and it's determination affixes your fate, life or death.

He held classes and preached that doctrine right from the scruptures, but his opponents prevailed on his deathbead--he was required to recant.

Yes, Sarah, Judgment Day is coming, and we will all meet our maker and receive the sentence: Well done thou good and faithful servant; or, You will be cast into eternal darkness--there will be the weeping and gnashing of teeth.

There is a prophecy that predicted the year the Judgment began, and a Bible code tells you exactly who Antichrist is. You can read the publication online: THE WISE SHALL UNDERSTAND at www.revelado.org/revealed.htm

We are bound by time, here on Earth. What seems like seconds, minutes, hours, weeks (you get the point.) However, God is not.

When we die, we won't know how much time has gone by when we are judged. There's no holding period, per se...it's either Heaven or hell.

Judgment day is the day of reckoning for believers and non-believers.

All I know for sure is that I want to be ready at all times. No one knows the time but it will happen in the twinkling of an eye.

Hope to see you there!

1038 The resurrection of all the dead, "of both the just and the unjust," will precede the Last Judgment. This will be "the hour when all who are in the tombs will hear [the Son of man's] voice and come forth, those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment." . Then Christ will come "in his glory, and all the angels with him. . . . Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate them one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, and he will place the sheep at his right hand, but the goats at the left. . . . And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

1039 In the presence of Christ, who is Truth itself, the truth of each man's relationship with God will be laid bare . The Last Judgment will reveal even to its furthest consequences the good each person has done or failed to do during his earthly life:

All that the wicked do is recorded, and they do not know. When "our God comes, he does not keep silence.". . . he will turn towards those at his left hand: . . . "I placed my poor little ones on earth for you. I as their head was seated in heaven at the right hand of my Father - but on earth my members were suffering, my members on earth were in need. If you gave anything to my members, what you gave would reach their Head. Would that you had known that my little ones were in need when I placed them on earth for you and appointed them your stewards to bring your good works into my treasury. But you have placed nothing in their hands; therefore you have found nothing in my presence."

1040 The Last Judgment will come when Christ returns in glory. Only the Father knows the day and the hour; only he determines the moment of its coming. Then through his Son Jesus Christ he will pronounce the final word on all history. We shall know the ultimate meaning of the whole work of creation and of the entire economy of salvation and understand the marvelous ways by which his Providence led everything towards its final end. The Last Judgment will reveal that God's justice triumphs over all the injustices committed by his creatures and that God's love is stronger than death. < Cf Song 8:6>

1041 The message of the Last Judgment calls men to conversion while God is still giving them "the acceptable time, . . . the day of salvation." <2 Cor 6:2> It inspires a holy fear of God and commits them to the justice of the Kingdom of God. It proclaims the "blessed hope" of the Lord's return, when he will come "to be glorified in his saints, and to be marveled at in all who have believed."

because of this faith is finished of ****. Judgment day will by no potential come and there's no such ingredient as an all-understanding god. And certain, it would want to negate the concept of an "all loving and all in simple terms" god. that's gloomy, because those who trust of their faith do not imagine of those styles of factors, which in simple terms completely flow hostile to their faith. They pick to trust each thing they're taught, even although none of it truly is authentic, and prefer this, is contradicting.

There is a Christian judgment (1 Cor 3:9-15)
And there is a non-believers judgment (Great White Throne...Revelation)

We are saved by the blood of Christ....we will be at the bema (judgment) seat of Christ....but our salvation is secure in Him.

The great white throne judgment is reserved for all those who rejected Him........sorry, sorry day
