If the law in China bans proselytizing by religious representatives then the law of that country should be respected. When people from outside the United States come here we expect them to adhere to our rules so it's not a case of we can do what we please when it suits us.
If they knowingly break the law of China then they deserve the punishment for doing so.

Jesus said that we are to follow the government.
But if the government breaks the laws of God, we must still be faithful to God above all. After all, Jesus was executed for treason.
What I think is pretty rude is that the Chinese government will not allow religion in their country. What I think is rude is that the Chinese set up a "fake" church that has services when foreign dignitaries arrive, but which is empty otherwise.
By the way, the word "spite" is not accurate. The word "love" is, for the missionaries are just trying to spread the gospel and bring others to salvation.

I don't agree with the Chinese Government's stance of freedom, but if Christians are willing to go and subvert the Chinese Government Law, they should be willing to pay the price of a long jail term without getting too upset.
I might believe that Paying taxes that goes towards helping create bombs is immoral, but should be willing to pay the price of Jail time if I take a stance and stop sending checks in every year.

I thought that the Bible said that one HAD to disobey the government, if the government commanded you to disobey God.
So how are these Christians obeying only "some" of the rules of the Bible, as you claim? Which Bible rule did they break?
=======edit=====
25Then someone came and said, "Look! The men you put in jail are standing in the temple courts teaching the people." 26At that, the captain went with his officers and brought the apostles. They did not use force, because they feared that the people would stone them.
27Having brought the apostles, they made them appear before the Sanhedrin to be questioned by the high priest. 28"We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name," he said. "Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man's blood."
29Peter and the other apostles replied: "We must obey God rather than men!
~ Acts of the Apostles 5 (NIV)

I see from the disapproving "thumbs down" that no one is really interested in an actual explanation or a different point of view; most of you are close minded people who are just here to ridicule religion.
What about the pro-demoracy protesters in Tiananmen Square who were arrested or killed by the Chinese government in April of 1989? Feel the same way about them as you do about the Christian missionaries? Why or why not? Anti-religious bigotry?

I think it is wrong to break the law in the name of the Bible. I also think it is wrong though for China to not give people the freedom of religion. I would be interested to hear the whole story.

We are required to obey civil gvt only to the point where it contradicts God's law. Jesus told us to spread the gospel, so we may have need to break civil laws to do so. View the eternal over the temporal. Wouldn't it be less loving of us to allow all those people to suffer in hell because we wanted to not offend their gvt?
Read in the book of Acts to see some examples of Peter and Paul defying the authorities who told them to keep quiet.
