Hell no, i don't think she should have been voted off. The girl had great vocals and proved it week after week.
Like Simon said, she was the most consistent one.
Whether she looked old school or not, it's not a search for the next beauty pageant. For crying out loud, it's a singing competition, and from day 1 she proved nothing but that.
They need to change the voting system and stop letting America vote bc clearly they are voting for beauty over talent. Which is sad and pathetic. That's why a lot of people don't audition for these type of shows because they know they will get shot down by America.
I wish her all the best and in my book she was the best singer this season without a doubt and she will perservare.

I feel so disappointed. If this kind of system continues in American Idol, then i truly believe that they should make a complete show format. From a singing contest to just a talent show, so that it could justify its popularity texting.
How could all the judges heap praises every week to every song sang by Melinda, and then drop her like a hot potato in the finals.
Hope Randy Simon and Paula gets to read this, look deep into your credibility, theres a problem with the show and you better solve it.
If this kind of trend goes on the show will all wind up as a popularity contest sans talent.
In fairness to Jordin and Blake, they are good but Melinda is better even the best in their batch. I bet they know that in their hearts that Melinda should have been there.
For me vote wise this season of American Idol is the worst, even predictable and boring.

I am not really mad about it, because American Idol has been and always will be an unfair show. Melinda has the best singing voice, is the best performer, and has a great stage presence. But the only thing that she falls short on is...looks. Just because she doesn't really look that good is the reason she got voted off. I don't really mind much because when her record hits stores, it'll be blowing up the charts and people will be wondering if Jordin fell off the face of the Earth. I'm rooting for Blake now!

I for one am completely perplexed! I thought between her versatility with the Bon Jovi songs, her obvious talent, and her great looks that she would have been "the Idol" to beat. I have no idea what goes on in the minds of the voters that vote on this sort of thing.
Have a good afternoon!

Actually, for me I had hoped Melinda DoLittle would win but after she got voted off (In the back of my mind I was expecting it) I decided that I wanted Blake Lewis to win. Jordan's okay, but she's not always on pitch. It's just intersting to watch.

I'm pissed!! She'll be back, though. Have you noticed, thought that most of the American Idol LOSERS are doing better than some of the winners, though? So..It may be the best thing to happen to her.

I'm not shocked. She appealed more to the adults than the younger set. If you really look at it, shes already a winner. She will have no problem getting a record contract. Most of them do.
