My family and I plan on moving to Florida early 2008. However, I heard many people tell me, that before I relocate, I have to ask God's permission first, or things may go terribly wrong.

Is there biblical evidence for this? has anyone else ever heard this?

If this is a serious question, no, you do not need God's "permission" to go. But I would pray about it that this is the right path to take. God may have other plans for you. Or it may be just the thing you need to do. Ask God, though.

I think someone may be pulling your leg on this one. Exactly how did they suggest you ask permission? If you pray and ask permission, then how are you supposed to know if it has been given. A certified letter in the mail?

Well, yeah, to Florida, because OBVIOUSLY God is trying to get people OUT of Florida (what with the hurricanes and the TBay Buccanneers and all).

Anywhere else? That's hogwash. God doesn't care where you live.

Sounds very cultish, this level of abandonment of personal choice, and ill wishing on you if you move away...
Are ya sure you can't move in 2007?
