I have been communicating via email and phone with #1 for the past few months. We have known each other since grade school. We are both in our 30's. He lives across the country and is coming to see me next week. We are very exited to see each other. We have talked about the future, and being together. I haven't seen him face to face in three years. But then, last week, a friendship with someone else turned romantic. I thought I could blow it off but now I can't stop thinking about #2! I don't want to be in this stuation and I don't want to hurt anyone or get hurt. How am I supposed to pick? Or do I wait it out and see what happens? Help!

#2 knows about #1, but #1 doesn't know about #2. Sorry, I know it's dramatic!

Don't be so quick to be in a relationship with either. Being in a relationship is a commitment and right now you are just having fun with "friends" which is cool for now. Feel the both of them out, you may not be compatible with #2 and you have already pushed #1 away. Take time to decide which out of the two have all the qualities that you are looking for.

If you choose #1, you will after sometimes feel that #2 was better, and if you choose #2, you will feel that #1 was better, you are in a difficult situation, NO SOLUTION

Why do you have to pick? You are not at the point with either that you have to choose. Explore both relationships till you reach that point.

Just wait, something will change and it will become clear with whom you are to be
