It is possible to be underweight, but flabby. It depends on the proportion of your body fat to lean mass. If you don't have much muscle, then you could look like a "fat-skinny" person.

The way to solve this problem is to exercise. It's better to gain weight if it's lean weight, than to lose weight if you're losing muscle. Tone your muscles through weight training.

A good trainer or nutritionist can calculate your body fat percentage based on a series of measurements. If you are over 30% body fat, then you have too much fat. Really, a girl should keep her fat % in the 20-28% range. Only go less than 20% if you are a serious athlete.

So you think your tummy's a bit squishy? Sometimes that can be a result of distorted body image. But I think you could simply benefit from toning your muscles. Yes, you can look slim, but frankly, slim doesn't mean healthy if you don't have good muscle tone. Eat well (don't starve, get lots of nutritious food into your body. And do crunches. That'll make you less squishy in the middle.

particularly some the time people declare to be "vast boned" as an excuse. whether there are 2 genetic modifications that provide some reality to being vast boned, and it is not uncommon for people who've one to have the different, however the type of people with the modifications is fairly small. First up, some people do have a greater physique, broader hips, a deep and extensive rib cage, oftentimes it fairly is blended with being short. Such features are effortless in chilly climates, they help give up the physique dropping warmth. right this is the oddity however, it actual skill that somebody with the type of physique could have very fairly seen ribs and hips, in case you cant see those then this is fat no longer physique! next up some people do have extra physically powerful bones. if it fairly is the case you are able to tell via feeling the width of the bones on the wrist or ankle, the place the bone must be on the fringe of the exterior of the exterior. returned this is particularly uncomplicated to tell if it fairly is fat no longer bone! Me: vast boned (on the two counts), yet particularly extra healthful. To be straightforward, this is surprisingly much a deformity, once you're an analogous all you're able to do is paintings out to look as commonly used as available (this advance into particularly a postpone whilst i advance right into a toddler).

Yes, just because someone is small doesn't mean they're not carrying fat, especially internal fat.

By exercising, you change that fat for muscle. You may weigh more, but you'll be about the same size and much healthier, have a better metabolism, better circulation and less chance of osteoporosis.

Yes, it is possible to look skinny, but still have a high body fat percentage. If you lost muscle instead of fat, you can end up increasing your body fat percentage even if you weigh less.
