Which God exactly?
If only the biblical God is being taught, do the non-Christian biology students get to be excused from what is now a religious lesson?
Can we as parents have our kids taught just evolution and not the religious part? Do we get that elective?

When I say, "We" I am not referring to "me" per say.
I personally believe evolution is a valid science and it should be taught in biology/world history class.
Intelligent design belongs in a religious instruction or philosophy class.

Both my kids were raised in a God believing household and were taught evolution. It did absolutely no harm to their self esteem. They are successful, bright young adults today.
Please note that as soon as you say, "We evolved from monkeys" it automatically communicates that you do not know anything about evolution. Just thought you should know.

They should be given the option to hear about the Intelligent design hoax after school, and with volunteer teachers not payed by taxpayers. One week christians, then budhists, muslims, voodoo preachers, etc alternating.

Last time I checked Biology class wasn't teaching evolution nor intelligent design. If you want them to learn about evolution only, why not teach them about it yourself. Get a few books on it and/or take them to a mu seam of natural history. Believe it or not, you kids will probably enjoy learning more from you than from a teacher and even more so if you show them that you are interested in it so you are doing some research on it too.
Religion is a personal choice and shouldn't be taught in schools unless it is a religious school and not a public school.

Where is this happening? I can put you in contact with the local ACLU chapter to have that BS stopped quick. Bible!=Science. Bible=religion and the Constitution guarantees us not only freedom of religion but also freedom FROM religion. We have to join together and stop this nonsense of religion being taught as science. Save it for Sunday school.
UPDATE: To those Christian kids who had to sit through evolution: There is a HUGE difference here. Creationism is not backed by any real science. Less than 1% of the scientific community believes anything but evolution occurred. Science class is for teaching things backed by rational SCIENCE, not religious mumbo jumbo about a being that exists outside space and time that created everything in six days and who all real science can find no evidence to support the existence of. You want creationism? Go to Sunday school. Until you can show some actual evidence that backs your theory, it is nothing more than a poorly postulated hypothesis.

Let's see... 1. Fire all women teachers considering the Bible says that women shall not teach over a man. 2. Make the Bible the ONLY textbook allowed. 3. Stone sinners. This means anyone who lies, steals, commits adultery(which, biblically speaking, means so much as being with the opposite sex unchaperoned), worships graven images(this means no more drooling over sexy Hollywood stars and the like), covets(so if you want something someone else has, you're done), etc. 4. Tear down our schools and replace them with churches so instead of going to school everyday to learn, you go to church.(Eh, I suppose this sort of goes with #3) 5. Serving biblically approved lunches(no more pork chops and ham sandwiches as pork is forbidden in the Bible) 6. Post the 10 Commandments in the hallways(although I've heard some schools actually try to get away with this) 7. Where there were once pictures of US Presidents, put only a picture of Christ. 8. During Lent, make fasting a requirement so goodbye snacktime(for younger kids) and lunches. 9. Instead of school counselors, make the kids go to confession. 10. For celebrating holidays, make them ONLY celebrate religious ones and ONLY the religious aspects. Halloween? Buh-bye. Thanksgiving? A day of prayer. Christmas? Sayonara Santa and presents. Have a Nativity pageant. Easter? No more eggs and bunnies, you get a recreation of the Passion. 11. Require daily prayers or recitation of things such as the Lord's Prayer. 12. Instead of teachers, give them priests/ministers/etc. 13. Field trips are to monasteries, places of religious significance, instead of to someplace fun. 14. Separate boys and girls classes, make the girls wear long hair and wear dresses or "modest" clothing. No makeup, no jewelry...unless it's a crucifix or something religious, of course. 15. Homework involves essays as to why other religions are going to hell and the only things worse than another faith is no faith at all, or on how a person can end up in hell or how they can avoid it, etc. 16. Before meals, everyone must say grace/table prayers, and those who don't pray, don't eat. Honestly, I could probably keep going all day if I tried...

It is totally fair if they are teaching evolution AND God.
However, one without the other is not fair and if that is the case, do away with them both.
If my kid has to hear about evolution, then your kid has to hear about God. It is as simple as that.
The good thing is that our children will see both sides of the coin and when he or she becomes an adult they will be able to make an educated decision based on the information and facts. I am not intimidated by the fact they may make a different choice than me. They need to learn all differernt theories.

As a christian student in school years ago I had to sit and listen to the evolution teachings taught by non-christian teachers. I did not get a choice to leave.
And why would a parent not teach a child that he is wonderfully made in the image of God? Instead would want that child to be taught that he evolved from monkeys? Good self image.

I believe the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster has taken this question on in their letter to The Kansas Board of Education (see the link below). I'm still waiting to hear back from Kansas. And I might be wrong on this, but doesn't the U.S.A. have a separation of church and state or am I thinking of some other U.S.A.?

Christians seem to think that theirs is the only religion. If you let religion into public schools, you have to let them all in. Would they be as quick to jump on the bandwagon if Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Animist or Shinto beliefs were being shoved down their throats?

No one is teaching about God in biology class.
Soon the theory of intelligent design may be taught. This is a non denominational theory supported by scientific facts.
