emulsion advice?

emulsion on tarmac - will it wear off? water based v oil based etc?

YES - very quickly

, oil based will react and the bitumen in the tarmac will bleed through. try using johnsons road marking paint after sealing with emulsion only trouble you are ltd to colours

You need special outdoor brick/mortar/tarmac/masonry paint.

yes and no .it will wear off the top surface ..but the gaps in between the stones will not get any wear ..you just got to hope for some hard frosts
