I am looking to buy an attachment for my husband's bicycle so he can bring our daughter out for rides. This is going to be a gift, so i can't ask him for advice. I have been leaning toward the front attachment (attaches to the bike frame in front of my hubby's seat) b/c it is supposed to have a better center of gravity. Plus, he would be able to see what she is looking at. We live in a pretty busy area, so i was thinking that the trailer kind would not be as practical for us.....Anyway, i was wondering what kind of bike attachments other people had, and if they were happy with them. Would you recommend the seat you bought? why or why not? I would like to hear about any types of seats....front or rear mounting, and the trailer kind. Thank you!!!

Oh, the one i have really been thinking about is the ibert safe-t-seat. Has anyone used this seat? I have included a link

I can't really speak for the front mount bike seats. I worry about the distraction of a child in front and the laws of physics during an accident doesn't favour the person in front. We have a removable rear bike seat that our child just loves and he's never complained about the view. While my husband can take him for rides, I can't seem to balance our son's weight on my bike...perhaps with more practice. One of those trailer hook ups might be a better solution but while its lower to the ground, you have that addition equipment weight not to mention the additional cost. Just my opinion.

i'm an officer with St John Ambulance in Australia, I actual have dealt with a toddler who advance into in a sort of seats whilst the bicycle tipped over sideways. i could could desire to assert dont get one. whether they seem to be a funky thought remember that a childs head is softer than an adults & the bones havent knitted mutually yet. Even donning a helmet a youthful toddler/toddler can go through concepts & cranium injuries if the motorbike information or u have an twist of destiny. i could propose u wait till ur toddler is sufficiently old to benefit to holiday a bike then take them out for rides. If whether u fairly need to get somthing i could say the trailer varieties R probably maximum secure as they are decrease to the floor & additionally much less probably to tip.

the seat I had for my son attached to the back of my bike. I probably got it at Sears. don't forget a child's helmet, too.

I have no recommendations, but do want to say that emergency room docs absolutely CRINGE when they hear someone wants to do that. I guess they see too many kids who've fallen to the pavement when Dad fell off the bike.
