The closest subway stop.

I did hopstop.com and was told to take the A, however it does not stop right near the school. Does the school have a stop that is closer than this? Thanks.

walk just two blocks east of Penn station. Herald square station take the N or W or R downtown. get off at 8th St NYU. remember, the school is spread out, and W4th street from the A is just as close and the main area near Washington Square

gopher, the C is not an express, but local. it does stop at W4th. that short of a distance it doesn't really matter.

just be sure the train letter is BLUE, A or C or E will do

The NYU campus is spread out all over Greenwich Village. It all depends on what building you want to visit. You could take the A or E to West Fourth Street and Sixth Avenue. You could take the N,R,or Q to Eight Street and Broadway, or you could take the 1 to Christopher Street. If you want to go to the NYU Law School that's on Fourth Street, so the A or E would be your best subway train.

Take the C (it's express). The C is right on campus. It stops at W 4th Street.

That is the quickest way.
